Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Can't Win Me Back (Isabella and Nathan). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 38. Let's read the author's Can't Win Me Back (Isabella and Nathan) Internet story right here.
Nathan's handsome face was as cold as ice.
It was an insult. A tremendous, shameful insult. A beggar with nothing to her name actually preferred to leave him with nothing rather than stay married.
Nathan felt a surge of blood rushing to his head.
"Isabella, I don't agree to the divorce," he said, his voice dark with rage.
He hung up the phone, slamming it down.
Isabella's negotiation had failed, and her mood was deeply depressed.
She curled up in a corner of the sofa and picked up her phone, posting on various forums: *I want to divorce my scumbag husband who keeps a mistress, but he refuses to divorce me. Any advice?*
Before long, the replies began piling up.
While the comments were mixed, there were some insightful suggestions among them. One comment stood out the most:
*"Since the scumbag loves his mistress, things should be easier. As long as you can stomach it and pretend to be affectionate with him, I guarantee the mistress will get uncomfortable and cause a scene. Let her help you convince him to divorce you—wouldn't that be sweeter?"*
*"If the scumbag still refuses to divorce, become Sherlock Holmes. You need to get close to him to catch him in the act and gather evidence of his infidelity, then use it to threaten him into a divorce. His family is wealthy and influential—why would he resist?"*
Isabella felt as though a light bulb had gone off in her head.
That very night, Isabella packed her bags and headed to the Hill household.
When Nathan saw Isabella, he was first shocked, then his face turned to one of anger.
"Isabella, what are you doing here?"
Isabella replied indifferently, "Since you refuse to divorce, then we are still legally married. Shouldn't married couples live together?"
Nathan was stunned.
After staring at Isabella for a long while, he couldn't help but sneer, "Isabella, you're playing games now? You used to want a divorce, and I admired your boldness. I didn't expect you to be pretending the whole time, trying to play hard to get."
Isabella was speechless. "The divorce proposal is always valid."
With that, she bypassed Nathan and entered the house.
Her disdain for him was deeply rooted in her bones. Yet Nathan, in his arrogance, believed that her coldness was just another one of her tactics to lure him in.
Isabella dragged her suitcase into a small room on the third floor. This room wasn't just small; it had poor lighting and was originally meant for a maid or as a guest room. But since Nathan liked peace and quiet, most rooms on that floor were left unused.
Nathan followed her upstairs and entered the guest room behind her.
"What do you mean? Are you trying to separate from me?"
Nathan was taken aback.
Isabella skillfully took her clothes out of the suitcase and hung them in the closet while responding casually, "Do you really want me to live with you?"
A complex and obscure look flashed across Nathan's eyes. He didn't know what was wrong with him—when Isabella was close to him, he felt disgusted. But when she kept her distance, it made him feel uncomfortable.
"You can stay in the room next door. It's bigger and brighter," he said.
Isabella paused for a moment. When she had passed the guest room on her way upstairs, she had noticed that it was decorated like a pink castle, with flowing tulle and a romantic atmosphere. It was clearly a room Nathan had carefully prepared for Victoria.
Isabella curled her lips. "The decoration in that room is way too gaudy. I don't like it. Can I redecorate it?"
Nathan firmly replied, "No."
Isabella said, "Then I'll stay here."
"Fine, suit yourself."
