Nathan, always so confident, couldn’t for the life of him understand why the internationally renowned Mr. Wade would bother to help an unknown like Isabella.

Nathan scanned the room, his gaze landing on Isabella, who stood calmly beside Mr. Wade. They kept their distance, making it clear that she wasn’t particularly close to him.

Victoria stumbled over, her face filled with anxiety. "Nathan, did Isabella really hire Mr. Wade to defend her? Does that mean we have no chance of winning?"

Nathan looked around, his nerves unsettled as the media gathered. If he lost, his reputation would be shattered forever.

He lowered his voice, "Our legal team isn’t to be underestimated. Don’t lose your composure."

Once the trial began, the lively buzz of the courtroom fell into complete silence.

Under the judge’s calm guidance, both sides presented their evidence and arguments in an orderly manner.

The opposing lawyer argued: "Isabella, out of jealousy, has deliberately distorted the facts, damaging Nathan and Victoria’s reputation. Isabella must apologize publicly to my client and compensate for the damages."

Mr. Wade then used his exceptional memory to methodically present the evidence Isabella had gathered, including dates, locations, and people involved. He systematically dismantled the opponent’s flimsy accusations.

"I object to the opposing side’s claims. There are three points of objection: First, Victoria and Nathan were childhood sweethearts; Second, Victoria frequently visited and stayed with the Hill family; Third, shortly after Nathan and Isabella married, Isabella lost her kidney, and Nathan has never fulfilled his duties as a husband. Therefore, we contend that Mr. Nathan was attempting to defraud Isabella."

The opposing lawyer countered with a weak argument: "Mr. Wade might not understand our culture. Miss Victoria is Miss Isabella’s Bella. Victoria’s health is poor, and Nathan, as her brother-in-law, occasionally takes care of her—that’s just kindness. If Victoria stays at the Hill family, it’s just out of courtesy. Any affair is merely Isabella’s imagination."

Mr. Wade shot back, "If Victoria and Isabella grew up as normal Bellas, there might be some merit to the argument. But our client grew up in a different family, with a broken relationship with her Bella. Why is the Bella frequently visiting her? What is the motivation?"

Mr. Wade projected photos showing the deteriorating relationship between Isabella and Victoria. "My client hasn’t been on good terms with Victoria for the past three years. So when Victoria frequently enters the Hill family, is it to visit Isabella, or is it to visit Nathan? I’ll leave that for the judge to decide."

In just a few minutes, Mr. Wade had left the opposing lawyer speechless. Faced with an overwhelming amount of evidence, they were forced to end the session abruptly.

Even Nathan, the composed and unflappable heir, lost his composure for the first time in front of the media. He scolded his lead lawyer angrily, "Is there any point in continuing this case?"

His legal team exchanged uncertain looks, before one of them spoke, "Mr. Nathan, although we’ve lost the moral high ground, if Isabella wants to claim a portion of your vast assets, we are confident we can make her leave empty-handed."

Nathan’s arrogance was gone, his face darkened as he nodded in agreement.

At the second hearing, the opposing lawyer forcefully raised the issue: "My client and Isabella signed a prenuptial agreement, so even if they divorce, Miss Isabella will leave with nothing."

Mr. Wade’s usually cold expression morphed into a victorious smirk. "Your Honor, as you can see, Nathan has been preparing for this moment both before and after marriage, with prenuptial agreements to protect his assets. This only further supports our accusation that Nathan may have been attempting to defraud Isabella."

The judge nodded slightly.

Nathan began to panic. His lawyer quickly tried to recover, "Most wealthy families have prenuptial agreements. Does that mean they’re all suspected of fraud?"

Mr. Wade retorted, "Do other wealthy families steal their wives’ organs?"

The opposing lawyer fell silent.

Mr. Wade turned from defense to offense: "Your Honor, my client requests that Victoria return all of the assets Nathan gave her during his marriage to Isabella."

Mr. Wade smiled knowingly. "We also accuse Nathan, in addition to fraud, of bigamy." With that, he submitted a pregnancy test for Victoria.

Victoria shouted in panic, "I’ll sue the hospital for leaking my private medical information!"

The judge calmly responded, "Victoria, please control your emotions. We are currently hearing the divorce case between Isabella and Nathan. If you wish to sue the hospital, you must file a separate lawsuit."

Nathan’s face turned deathly pale.

The hospital, risking its reputation, had leaked private information to help Isabella win this case. The realization filled Nathan with a new sense of fear toward Isabella.

For the first time, he felt as though Isabella wasn’t the beggar from the slums but a daughter of a prominent family in Capital.

The opposing legal team was equally professional. "Mr. Wade, you can’t prove that the child in Victoria’s womb is Nathan’s. Your accusations are baseless."

Mr. Wade glanced at Isabella, and the two exchanged a knowing smile.

They knew that Nathan and Victoria wouldn’t be foolish enough to provide them with evidence of their paternity.

Thus, from the very start, Isabella’s goal wasn’t necessarily to bring Nathan down for bigamy. She was simply planting a seed of doubt in the public’s mind. Ten months from now, when Victoria’s child was born, would she still dare to acknowledge Nathan as the father?

If she did, it would confirm Nathan’s bigamy.

After several rounds of intense debate, the judge finally announced: "The marriage has irreparably broken down. The divorce is granted. Due to the prenuptial agreement, Nathan is not required to pay Isabella any compensation."
