Chapter 12: Mate
“Why did you tell them?” I immediately confronted him the moment we’re out in the garden.
His cold eyes just bore on me, his gazes were like a dagger to my soul. Is it natural that I person could have this kind of aura?
“We’ll get married soon; I presume that’s what we have supposed to do.” He said without a glint of regret.
I crossed my arms in front of him and looked at him with a chinky eyes. “I was planning of telling them myself and you just popped the bubble. Now they’re shock. Tsk! I don’t even think they would allow the marriage now.” I said pouting.
He caressed his disheveled hair and licked his lower lip. He sighed too while his eyes stay gazing on me.
“I don’t think so.” He whispered hoarsely and moved forward.
He caught my waist and pulled me closer to him. Our body touched and I closed my eyes when I felt him kiss my forehead.
“Trust me,” He whispered, and I don’t know but I can feel him smirk from his voice.
I pouted even more and just hugged him back.
He told me before leaving that he will come back tomorrow to talk to my parents, and I just said yes. When I came back inside, my parents were looking at me. I can see anger on their faces, but somehow, I can see worry in their eyes.
“Are you truly pregnant, Pyress.” My dad’s voice echoed the whole room.
It was just us now because the maids went to their chambers. My mom is behind my dad, she’s worried. Well, I am expecting different, maybe because I am imagining myself telling them in a good situation but ugh, my boyfriend just ruined it.
“Yes, daddy.” I said, I can’t almost hear my own voice.
Daddy went silent. I couldn’t look at them earlier while answering, but I couldn’t help but look now because of the deafening silence.
“Let’s talk about this more tomorrow.” Dad said and went out of the room.
My mom didn’t follow my dad and looked at me with weary eyes. She then walked towards me and held both of my hands.
“Darling… am I to be a grandma so soon?” She whispered to me.
It felt like my heart was touched with a warm hand. It is such a bliss that my mom is telling me this soft words.
I nodded as tears build up under my eyes.
“Yes..mommy.” I said.
She smiled and let go of my right hand to touch my belly.
“My baby is going to have a baby.” She joked, but it sounded so soft.
I nodded. “I’m sorry mommy if I disappointed you and dad.” I just said.
She shook her head and removed the tears on my eyes. “You dad is just worried about you. And of course he couldn’t imagine that his daughter is not a baby anymore.” Mom said.
I sobbed even more and hugged her. Damn, she’s the best mom ever!
I slept that night with ease on my heart. It’s like my world is siding on me, it’s like everything is going to be fine.
….
The next morning, I woke up feeling sick. It was horrible, because as the days pass, the more it’s becoming worse. Even one of the helpers were worried, they said it wasn’t normal at all.
But after a while, I was okay. Vigor arrived in the mansion at 8 am and he was already in front of my parents in the living room when I went down.
“You will marry my daughter.” I heard my dad that made me almost slip on the floor.
“Yes, sir I will.” Vigor said immediately.
