Seeing Dylan standing there without even flinching, the murderous intent in Suzy’s eyes intensified. 

She rushed forward, raising the knife in her right hand without hesitation, aiming straight for his chest… 

Just then, Diana arrived, her voice filled with disbelief. 

“Suzy…” she gasped, horrified. 

Was her sister–in–law truly about to kill her brother? Had her love for him turned so cold? Without thinking Diana darted between them, grabbing the knife just before it could strike. “Suzy, I may not understand everything that happened between you and my brother, but I need to say this…” Diana hesitated, her voice wavering. “Murder is still a crime, and he’s just an ex–it’s not worth it!” 

Dylan looked on in silence, while Suzy’s rationality slowly returned, though her hatred for Dylan didn’t wane in the least. 

“Dylan,” she hissed, “I’ll spare you today for Diana’s sake, but you’ll face the consequences. What you owe Claude–I’ll make you pay back a hundredfold.” 

Dylan didn’t respond and instead pulled out his phone, calling Desmond. 

“Mr. Dylan…” Desmond’s voice came through. 

“Did you have anything to do with Claude’s accident?” Dylan asked, his tone icy. 

“What?” Desmond sounded baffled. “No way! He’s part of the Harlow family and is now the head of Harlow Corporation. Even if I had many lives to spare, I wouldn’t dare touch him. But… if it were an order from you, that’d be a different story. You’ve never exactly been fond of him…” 

Just as Dylan prepared to end the call, Suzy snatched the phone from him. “You say you’re not responsible, but someone from the Goodwin family saw you deliberately let go of his wheelchair, causing him to fall.” 

“Mrs. Wright?” Desmond’s voice was laced with confusion as he pieced things together. ” So, you believe the Goodwin family’s claims and think I intentionally sabotaged Mr. Claude?” 

Diana, understanding the situation, jumped in, “Desmond, you have to admit you’re in the hot seat here. Not only you, but my brother too especially since the accident happened right in your care. 

“But I didn’t do anything, and neither did Mr. Dylan,” Desmond insisted, his voice tense

Diana watched her retreat, then looked at her brother, sighing. “Are you just going to stand there? Go after her and explain yourself!” 

She could see the hatred in Suzy’s eyes, and it worried her. 

If Suzy’s resentment continued to grow, she might even cut ties with the family completely, isolating herself from Diana and Grace too. 

Dylan stood still, his gaze fixed on the path Suzy had taken. 

After a long silence, he finally spoke, “She won’t believe me.” 

There was no more trust between them. 

To her, any explanation now would sound like a cowardly excuse. 

Suzy had told Allen to hold back any news of Claude’s death from the public. The timing was crucial; with Harlow Corporation’s new project freshly launched, word of Claude’s passing could have devastating consequences for the company.
