Suzy’s expression grew even colder. “I don’t love you anymore, Dylan. So take back whatever feelings you think you have. There’s no chance for us–unless hell freezes over.” Seeing him ready to speak again, Suzy raised her voice, calling for the maid. “See him out!”

Dylan could tell from her expression that saying more would be pointless. Some things couldn’t be rushed. Accepting this, he merely left her with one final comment. “I’ll be here in the morning to take you to see Grandma. She misses you.” 

If she didn’t want him around tonight, then he’d be back tomorrow. 

He’d just have to be persistent. 

The moment he said that, Suzy turned to the maid. “Let security know–no Mr. Wrights or dogs are allowed on the premises.” 

Dylan was left speechless. 

He shot her a glare before turning away without another word. In his mind, no one could truly keep him away if he wanted in. 

Dylan had assumed Allen was long gone, or he wouldn’t have left so easily. He wouldn’t risk her being alone with another man. 

What he didn’t know was that Allen hadn’t left at all–he’d just gone to his room. After Claude left, Allen had been staying at the Harlow residence to ensure Suzy’s safety and to be at her side whenever needed. His presence was kept low–profile, and his identity remained a well–guarded secret.
