After all, they had been husband and wife.

Refusing to believe it, Dylan fixed his gaze on Suzy, who stood there, calm and composed even after being caught red–handed. “You know him?” 

Suzy hadn’t expected Dylan to wait and trap them like this. While she wasn’t afraid, she did feel a pang of frustration at her failure to notice earlier. 

Inside, when Gray Wolf had asked, “Why aren’t you asking anything today?” it had been a clue. A clear signal that something wasn’t right. 

Yet she’d ignored it, and now she was paying for that oversight. 

Meeting Dylan’s questioning stare, Suzy’s gaze turned cold. “I do.”

Her admission made Dylan’s chest tighten further, his expression darkening. “So, he’s here because of you?”

Though it had been Allen who sent Gray Wolf, Suzy knew it was ultimately for her sake. Her straightforward acknowledgment made Dylan’s heart ache even more. “You hate me that much?” 

“That’s right.” Suzy’s face was devoid of emotion. “The humiliation you put me through over the past three years–I’ll never forget it. So yes, I wanted to kill you to vent my anger.” 

Dylan’s entire body began trembling uncontrollably at her words. 

In one swift movement, he closed the distance between them, desperation burning in his eyes. “Is hatred all you feel for me now?” 

“What else could there be?“. Suzy shot back coldly. “You think I’d still love someone like you? I’m not that pathetic.”

Suzy, her hands steady on the wheel, glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. “You need a new name.” 

“What?” 

He was confused. After all, she was the one who had given him his name.

Did she suddenly want him to change his name because she thought he’d heroically met his end and someone else had taken up the mantle? 

No way. That name was his. 

If there was a new claimant, they were the ones who’d have to change.
