No one had ever dared treat Maya like this before. 

She glared at Suzy and asked, “Are you really not afraid of death?” 

“What do you think?” Suzy replied coldly, her expression unchanging. 

Maya couldn’t believe Suzy would actually kill her. “Then go ahead. Kill me. But if you do, you’ll never find out where that man is.” 

“Is that so?” Suzy’s lips curled into a faint, icy smile. “Let’s see about that.” 

She took a shovel from one of the servants and began piling dirt into the grave herself. One shovelful after another, she didn’t stop until only Maya’s head remained visible above the ground, showing no intention of halting. 

Maya’s breaths grew shallow as the air in her chest seemed to thin, and the suffocating pressure left her pale and trembling. 

Nearby, the butler was paralyzed with fear at Suzy’s ruthless actions, not even daring to breathe too loudly. He had seen arrogance before, but never anything like this. 

He had thought their young lady was already domineering enough, but compared to this woman, Maya was nothing more than a petty tyrant. Suzy was far more terrifying. 

“Miss, please…” The butler finally mustered the courage to speak, his voice shaking. “You should just tell her. It’s just a man! Besides, that man doesn’t even like you. Keeping him is pointless!” 

“Shut up!” Maya snapped, fixing the butler with a venomous glare. “I don’t care if he doesn’t love me–I’ll never let another woman have him! He’s mine, whether he’s alive or 

dead!” 

Even with her life on the line, Maya refused to relent. She would never let go of that man so easily. 

Maybe he didn’t love her now, but she believed that given enough time, he would. 

If one year wasn’t enough, she’d take two. If two weren’t enough, she’d wait five. With decades ahead of her, she refused to believe that he could remain cold forever. 

“Miss, your life is hanging by a thread! Why are you still saying such things?” The butler tried to persuade her again, his voice desperate. “This woman is not someone to mess with. If you don’t talk, she really will kill you!” 

“She wouldn’t dare!” Maya was adamant, convinced that Suzy was bluffing “If she has the guts, then let her try! I’m not afraid of death, but I bet she doesn’t have the nerve to go through with it!”

Suzy, seeing right through Maya’s thoughts, dropped the shovel and pulled out a silver needle. 

She crouched down in front of Maya, her voice calm and cold. “Suffocating to death is an unpleasant way to go. Your face would turn purple, and while you’re somewhat decent- looking, that would ruin everything. So, I’ve decided to give you a more dignified death.” 

She pointed the sharp end of the needle at the center of Maya’s forehead, her tone chillingly precise. “Don’t worry, I’m very skilled. I promise you won’t feel a thing.” 

The butler’s panic reached its peak. He waved his hands frantically. “No, no, no! Please don’t harm our young lady! Isn’t it the man’s location you want? I’ll tell you! I’ll tell you right now!” 

While Maya might not value her life, the butler couldn’t afford to let her throw it away. If anything happened to her, his own life would be forfeited as well. 

Deep down, he wanted to scream, “How did I never realize our young lady was such a hopelessly reckless romantic?” 

“Shut up!” Maya snapped at him, her eyes blazing with anger. “You are not allowed to speak!” 

“Miss, please stop being stubborn,” the butler pleaded. “A man who doesn’t love you isn’t worth dying for!” 

Turning to Suzy, he said hurriedly, “The man you’re looking for is in Miss Whitmore’s private villa. I’ll have someone take you there right away!”
