The blade struck Dylan’s shoulder, a blow that added to his already battered and bloodied body. His arms and ankles, pierced and torn, bled profusely, and Suzy’s heart clenched at the sight.

The chilling voice came from a figure dressed entirely in black, the cloak and mask concealing every part of his body. His sinister presence was suffocating, like a shadowy ghost haunting the dark. He stopped three or four meters away, the malevolent energy radiating off him freezing the air. 

“Mr. Wright, isn’t it a bit presumptuous to think you can ignore me? My goal isn’t just to kill one of you. It’s to send both of you to hell together. After all, isn’t it better for a husband and wife to walk the road to the afterlife side by side? That way, neither of you will be lonely.” 

Hearing this, Dylan instantly stepped in front of Suzy, shielding her with his body. “Don’t forget our deal!”

“My, Mr. Wright, aren’t you stingy?” The man in black ignored Dylan’s anger, his tone mocking. “Why keep such good things to yourself? After all, Miss Frost is the woman you love most, isn’t she?” 

The woman he loved most… 

The words stirred something deep in Suzy’s heart, catching her off guard. But there was no time for emotions. Dylan’s condition couldn’t afford any delays. 

Decisive as ever, Suzy seized the moment while the man in black was taunting Dylan. With lightning speed, she launched a handful of silver needles in his direction. 

Caught off guard, the man in black had no time to dodge, and the needles struck him. 

However, he merely sneered, yanking the needles out one by one, unfazed even though they were laced with poison. He smirked and fixed his gaze on Suzy. “Impressive aim, Miss Frost. Too bad the poison is far too weak. How about adding a bit more next time?” 

“If that’s what you want, then I’ll gladly fulfill your wish.” 

Without hesitation, she flung an entire pouch of poison powder in his direction.
