“You have no idea. I just saw a man walk out of her room!” Victor fumed, his expression filled with indignation. “A man leaving a woman’s room in the middle of the night—what do you think that means? 

“You nearly died for her, and now she’s sneaking around with some other guy behind your back!” He was practically shaking with rage, but Dylan remained calm, his tone steady as he replied, “It’s late. Go to bed.” 

Victor stared at him, dumbfounded. “Are you half–asleep, or did you not hear what I just said?” He leaned closer, his frustration mounting. “Suzy has a lover, Dylan! How are you not furious about this?” 

“She’s not that kind of person,” Dylan said firmly, his unwavering confidence in Suzy’s character clear in his voice. 

Victor threw up his hands in exasperation. “How can you say that? Like you know her better than anyone? Have you ever heard the saying, ‘You can read someone’s face, but you’ll never truly know their heart‘? 

“Sure, she might not look like the type, but do you really know what she’s like deep down? She’s taking advantage of you! Don’t let her walk all over you!” 

“We’re divorced,” Dylan replied, his tone cold but resolute. “Who she’s with is her business.” 

Victor blinked, utterly floored. “Divorced or not, that doesn’t mean you have to be this spineless!” 

He jabbed a finger in Dylan’s direction, his voice rising in frustration. “Look at yourself, man! She’s turned you into someone I barely recognize. The old Dylan would never have put up with this kind of humiliation. What happened to the decisive, ruthless man I used to know? Now you’re letting her treat you like this?” 

“Are you done?” Dylan said flatly, his expression unreadable. “I’m tired.” 

Victor stared at him in disbelief, then shook his head and muttered under his breath as he 

turned to leave. “Unbelievable…” 

As Dylan stared at the closed door, Victor’s fiery words echoed in his mind. He couldn’t deny it he had changed. Once fearless, now his only fear was being unable to give Suzy the happiness she deserved.
