If not, why was she nowhere to be found at the Frost family’s old residence? And if she had been discovered, why hadn’t he shown any reaction? 

Still, Suzy warned Dylan to advise the fake Charlotte to be extra cautious, just in case George was feigning ignorance. 

Dylan nodded. “I’ve already reminded her.” 

With everything said, Suzy felt it was time to dismiss the uninvited guest who had shown up so early. “We’ve said all there is to say, and breakfast is done. Take care, Mr. Wright!” 

The pesky man had arrived first thing in the morning with a pile of food, claiming he was here to have breakfast with a friend. He even insisted it was the most common way friends spent time together. 

Suzy, still groggy from the early hour, didn’t want to engage with him much. However, given his mobility issues, she reluctantly took care of him to some extent. 

Dylan, sensing the limit of her patience, knew when to leave without overstaying his welcome. 

After last night, he had come to a realization–not to push too hard. He needed to take things step by step. 

Since she called him a friend, he’d start there. Many relationships, after all, began as 

friendships. 

Now that Elliot was no longer in the way, he had plenty of time.

Elliot’s solo arrival left Suzy dissatisfied. “Where’s Diana?” 

Elliot’s tone was far from pleasant. “How would I know?” 

“You two went to the polar region together. If you don’t know, who does?” Suzy was irritated by his attitude. “Don’t tell me you left her there alone?” 

“Wasn’t it Mentor who didn’t let her return?” Elliot retorted, his frustration boiling over after almost a month. “I’m just following Mentor’s instructions.” 

“Then I won’t let you come back either. Why did you come back?” Suzy immediately caught on that Elliot was blaming her for trapping him and Diana in the polar region. Though she felt a twinge of guilt, it was minimal. “Yes, I deliberately trapped you two there. What about it? Got a problem with that?”

But no matter how angry he was, he didn’t dare do anything to Suzy. After all, she was still his mentor, and going against her wasn’t an option. 

He couldn’t argue, he couldn’t scold her, so all he could do was express his frustration with a glare. However-

“Feelings can grow over time—” 

“Then why don’t you try growing feelings with me?” Elliot shot back without hesitation. “If it’s about building feelings, then I want to do that with you!” 

“You brat! What kind of trashy dramas have you been watching to mess up your head like this? Suzy almost smacked him again. “I’m your mentor! Are there no other women in the world? Why are you so hung up on me? 

“Diana is a kind–hearted girl. Over time, you’ll come to see her good qualities!” 

“There are plenty of kind–hearted girls out there. Am I supposed to build feelings with every single one of them?” Elliot refused to back down. “Suzy, what you’re doing isn’t fair to Diana!
