Before she finished, Chase put a dish of stir–fried pork in her bowl. Ashley paused,“…Thank you.” Chase said nothing. The matriarch usually meant for Chase to continuously serve Ashley. So, when Ashley’s bowl was almost empty, Chase served her more of her favorite dishes. This didn’t mean anything; it had happened several times before.
