Leaving the stables, Ashley didn’t know where to go. Cindy and Tim were busy. She wanted to go to her family’s house, but Sam wasn’t there; she didn’t want to worry her mother. Seeing a wetland park with families camping or young people relaxing, Ashley felt a pang of envy and sadness. She stopped the car. After hesitating, she called,“Hello, is my mother doing okay?” An hour and a half later, she was at the Yihe Nursing Home. Seeing Lucy, frail and listless, Ashley felt a pang of sadness. The director said softly, “She’s the same; no changes.” Lucy couldn’t interact with others without becoming agitated.
