Chapter 373
Ji Qingyue, however, didn’t show favoritism. After chatting with Chase’s group, he approached Tim and Ashley. “There are more guests than expected. Please forgive any shortcomings in our hospitality.”
Tim was polite.“We weren’t invited, Mr. Ji. You’re kind.”

Qin Lao, a friend of Ji Lao, didn’t understand painting, but had come to show support. Ji Lao, unable to attend to him personally, asked Ji Qingyue to bring out a chessboard and tea set, finding someone to keep Qin Lao company.
Ji Qingyue excused himself and left. Ji Lao, picking up a handful of chess pieces, looked at his friend, Li Lao.
Li Lao grumbled, “I always lose to you. Find someone else.”
Qin Lao looked at Ji Qingyue.“Qingyue is probably busy.”
“You play chess?”
A little,” Ashley replied.
Tim remained silent, knowing she played exceptionally well. Perhaps it was due to their unfamiliarity.
Initially, Qin Lao and Chase’s moves were cautious. But as they understood each other’s styles–Qin Lao’s aggressive, Chase’s defensive and opportunistic–Chase appeared to be struggling, though he was actually setting traps.
