Nyx had been conflicted for several days. She quietly observed Kat and found he seemed physically fine. From personal experience, she felt there was no problem. But she still doubted it. After much hesitation, Nyx decided to talk to Kai. 

She believed Kai needed to get a thorough check–ups first to figure out what was going on. 

She thought. If it could be treated, it would be a happy ending. If not, it wouldn’t matter too much, though it would be a slight regret. I wouldn’t despise kay because of it and would comfort him well. 

With her mind made up. Nyx went to Kai’s room to wait for him to return from work. 

Song on Kai’s bed, she mentally prepared for what she would say, while her mind wandered. 

Soon, she couldn’t help but jump off the bed and pace around, her gaze eventually landing on a high shelf.

She knew full well that she could steady herself and wouldn’t fall. But since Kai was concerned for her safety, she didn’t argue, instead raising her arms around his neck and affectionately brushing her face against his. 

She successfully got hold of the medicine bottle, her goal for climbing to a higher place now accomplished. 

She patted Kar’s arm, signaling him to put her down, and then carefully examined the bottle. 

Upon seeing the bottle, Kai’s face turned pale. 

“Nyx” His voice trembled as he grabbed Nyx’s wrist and took the bottle from her. 

Seeing his obvious guilt and avoidance, Nyx thought, Is this something shameful? Does placing it on a high shelf mean he doesn’t want me to see it? Is it an antidepressant? Or is it a medication for regulating the body?” 

She just weighed the bottle, noticing that it was half–empty. She thought, “So he has already consumed half of it. Kai must be anxious too. That’s why he’s been taking the medicine behind my back. 

While quietly contemplating. Nyx stared at the bottle tightly clutched by Kai’s hand, thinking about how to comfort the poor leopard. 

Her silence created an unbearable pressure for the already guilty Kai 

Kai’s face went pale, his tall body swaying unsteadily. He stood stiffly for a moment before finally collapsing to his knees in front of Nyx, unable to hear the mental burden any longer.

She never imagined that Kai didn’t want to have cubs with her. 

She thought. He knows I love cubs and want a little leopard so much. And he has never opposed my suggestion, always seeming to cooperate. But secretly, he has been avoiding pregnancy. All our previous efforts now seems like a joke! 

Nyx couldn’t even describe how she felt, her face turning red. She staggered back a few steps and ran toward the door. 

“Don’t go. Nyx” Kai caught up to her, holding her tightly around the waist before she could escape. He whispered in desperation. “Please forgive me.” 

After a moment of tension, Nyx calmed down slightly and lowered her gaze to him. “Why take this medicine? Don’t you like cubs?” She speculated about Kai’s thoughts. “Why not just tell me?” 

As she spoke, her anger flared again. The countless times of anticipation and disappointment over the past two months made her feel like she had been made a fool of 

She thought. If I knew that Kai doesn’t like cubs, I wouldn’t have forced him. So why he’s secretly taking a medicine that harms his body?” 

Kai could hear the frustration in Nyx’s tone. 

He was in a panic, quickly denying it. “I like cubs. I really do.” 

Over the years, he had seen the cubs in the house grow up, and seeing their cute faces made him happy.

“Why?” Nyx was puzzled.

To outsiders, he seemed like a powerful SS–level male with no weaknesses, but privately, he was like a parasitic vine, clinging tightly to Nyx, needing her confort to survive.
