Margery grabbed the phone and tended to call the police by instinct.

Ms. Hall noticed and stopped her immediately, "That won't help. The police will dismiss this case since she hasn't been missing for 24 hours."

"What should I do?"

Margery was in a panic. Tears were hanging in her red, wildly open eyes. She was wandering in front of the darkroom, thinking about where her baby would go, whether he was scared or hungry, or was in danger…

She had already lost Andrew, and she couldn't lose Ethan again.

Mr.Gray gave her a serious glance and lowered his head, "This is not the time for accountability. Find more teachers with you and then go to the hill in search of Ethan. He is our priority."

"Ethan… Please come out! Mom's so worried about you!"

"I know that you do this is take it out on me. Don't worry, I won't blame you or scold you, I always love you!"

In the forest, Margery was walking in the path covered with leaves and shouting her son's name anxiously. She shouted herself hoarse but found nothing.

The sun was sinking, and the sky was darker and darker. Once she realized that she had found no clue about Ethan, she felt helpless.

She had tasted this grievance before. Five years ago, when she lost Andrew, she felt her life had no meaning anymore.

Margery smiled wanly like she was crying. After stumbling for a long time, she recalled that she should call Melvin.

He was a good mixer with lots of friends. And he knew more about how to find a person than her.

She held the tears and took the phone with her shivering hand. She was so frightened that she typed the number directly rather than search it from the address list.

Several seconds later, the call was taken.

Before Melvin could greet her in fun, Margery wept and said, "Melvin? Ethan is missing."
