While I focused on healing in the Northern territory, attending daily sessions with the pack healers, Ethan’s life spiraled into darkness 

After a week without finding my trace, he lost himself to moon–wine, rarely staying sober. When his wolf’s healing failed and he collapsed, his pack healer–his childhood friend–finally confronted him. 

“Have I destroyed everything?” Ethan whispered. 

“Sarah’s alive, isn’t she? The rescue teams found no body. The flight records must be false. The Moon Sage Pack has power–this is her punishment…” 

The healer sighed heavily, “Truth is, Sarah was conscious during the binding ritual. She felt everything you did to her,” 

“I saw her tears during the ceremony. Her wolf knew,” 

“Ethan, you’ve shattered her trust. She won’t return.” 

“I warned you at the start–you and Sarah were true mates. Alexandra was just a shadow from your Academy days. When she left, that should have been the end.” 

“You lived in memories I couldn’t wake you from. Sarah became your salvation.” 

“I thought your childhood bond would overcome Alexandra’s influence. But you chose wrong. Alexandra isn’t what she seems. Her plan was to destroy Sarah completely. You were blind, and now there’s no path back.” 

“Do you really believe that night with Alexandra three years ago in the Northern Territories was chance? You knew the truth. The moment you planted that seed, your bond with Sarah was broken.” 

Ethan finally understood what he’d lost. But too late. 

“Proceed with the plan. The fertility binding must be complete. She can never know.” 

The Alpha Law Keeper traced my new identity. A day later, Ethan appeared outside my healing 

chamber in the Northern Pack lands. 

He watched as I struggled through rehabilitation exercises, tears falling silently. Blood rimmed his exhausted eyes.
