I settled myself in my office, looking back at the dreaded letter in my hands. We want her... I pounded my fist against the desk. "Daddy?"

"Yes sweetheart?" I breathed out, looking at my baby girl. Baby girl? I shook my head. Her reddish brunette hair was braided neatly as she dark brown eyes shone with unshed tears. "I made my decision daddy."

She walked over to me and sat on my lap. I smiled at her loving gesture. She may be eighteen, but she'd never be too old to be called my baby girl or be able to sit on my lap. She'd only do this when she's completely sad. I remembered sitting her on my lap as she bawled her eyes out after her first heartbreak. Never again...I gave her a light kiss on the cheek, looking over her sad features.

"What is it baby girl?" She looked at me with a small frown.

"I...I'm coming with Alpha Sauron," she whispered. "I don't want you to give up the pack... I'd rather sacrifice myself, daddy. I know how much you love this pack."

I hugged her tighter. "No sweetheart, you will not be doing such a thing. I won't be able to live with myself if something bad was to ever happen to you. You'd always be my baby girl. I will protect you, no matter what," I kissed her cheek once again and set her back on her feet. "Promise me you'd never try to think about that again. I'm the Alpha here. I'll think of a solution, got that?"

"Yes sir," she smiled meekly. "But I am sincere about my offer, daddy. I just really want to help."

"You are," I took one of her hands and looked deep into her brown eyes. "Your mother and I love you very much. You're our only girl. We'd do anything for you."

"Thanks daddy. I love you too," she kissed my cheek and turned towards the door. Before walking out she muttered, "Uncle Eric and his family are going to be home in an hour or so."

I nodded and got back to work. The Alpha duties had been unbearable without my Beta, Eric, by my side. Having him back from his vacation would be like lifting a huge boulder out of my shoulders. He was a much respected man and his family too.

An hour later, I had managed to finish half of the paperwork. "Damn it," I stacked the papers to one side and sighed deeply. I need my Beta so badly.

"Knock knock," his voice sounding like music to my ears had me up a second later.

"You're back!" I clapped happily.

"Why Alpha, I didn't know you missed me that much. Or maybe it's the way I did most of the hard for and let you take the easy way out," Eric chuckled, looking at my stressed out face.

"Whatever. How was the trip?" I asked, cracking my neck.

"It was great. Just what the wife and I needed," I merely nodded, not wanting to go into details of the trip.

The beautiful girl I found in the woods... She looked too innocent... A whore? That cannot be.

"What do you mean by not being safe?" I asked, noticing how Eric's eyes dilated in absolute fear.

"She...She..."He let his wife's hands drop after she stopped struggling.

"Spit it out, you douche," she ordered, balling her fists once again.

"She's a Baine. The Baine. The heir to the Alpha title," with that, Susan's fist collided with his cheek.

"How dare you! You had the chance to save a poor girl from her father's stupid whore house, but you chose to give in... You sicken me," with one last pitiful glance at the girl, Susan strode off the room.

"Man, you are so screwed," I mumbled.

"Shut up," Eric muttered, wiping the blood off the corner of his mouth. "What are we going to do with her?"
