Summary of Chapter 994 from Dear Ex-wife Marry Me (Maja and Ian)
Chapter 994 marks a crucial moment in Beverly Quinn’s Romantic novel, Dear Ex-wife Marry Me (Maja and Ian). This chapter blends tension, emotion, and plot progression to deliver a memorable reading experience — one that keeps readers eagerly turning the page.
Director Spencer was taken aback when Ian decided to engage in a conversation with him. It was unexpected, to say the least.
Ian furrowed his brows, pulled out his phone, and then removed Maja from his blocked contacts list.
“Is she trying to sign you into her company?” He casually asked.
“Yes,” The director responded, “I’ve already discussed it with Ms. Pennyfeather. The contracts are ready."
Ian dialed a number on his phone but received no answer from the other end.
It was known that Maja had been working overtime lately, often until midnight. She was also in the midst of a crucial battle with Funfly. It was highly unlikely that she would drop the ball at that moment unless something was wrong.
The elevator reached the ground floor. Ian walked out, then turned to the director and said, “Something must've happened to her. She might be in trouble, which is why she couldn’t answer the phone. You can discuss the contract with her later.”
His words implied that the director needn't worry about that missed opportunity.
Overwhelmed, the director didn’t dare to argue. After all, that was Ian, a man who even the top producers failed to curry favor with.
“Alright, Mr. Raymond,” He said, “I’ll discuss it with Ms. Pennyfeather next time we meet.”
Ian then drove straight to Maja's office.
Elvis was surprised to see him there.
"Where was Maja?"
"Ms. Pennyfeather had a lunch appointment with a director, she should've been back by now."
"She didn't meet with the director. Give me Zoey's number."
Elvis immediately found Zoey's number.
Zoey, who was on her way to Rosewood Manor, quickly answered her ringing phone.
"Hello."
"It's Ian. Where's Maja?"
Hearing his voice, Zoey felt a wave of relief wash over her, and she immediately began to cry. She was incredibly worried about Maja.
"Ms. Pennyfeather's been kidnapped. I don't know where she is, and I don't have any evidence. The police won't take the case. I'm going to Rosewood Manor to ask Maria to send her bodyguards to look for Maja."
After hanging up the phone, Ian immediately ordered a review of the building's security footage.
"Maja, I'll ask you one last time. Where is Cornelia?"
Maja remained silent, not even looking at him anymore.
Omar had never encountered a woman as stubborn as Maja. He stood up, a cold smile on his face.
"Alright, if you wish for death, I'll grant it."
Maja spat out the sand in her mouth and laughed as she said, "Even if Cornelia were alive, she would do more than just shoot you if she knew that you were burying me alive. You claim to love her, yet you do everything she despises."
Omar was infuriated by her words!
"If she were alive, I would treat her well!"
"Who cares about your empty promises? All men are the same. Go ahead, bury me. I'll see Cornelia in the afterlife and report you!"
Omar had never met a woman as defiant as Maja. Any other woman, having been tortured for hours and about to be buried alive, would've been begging for mercy by that point.
"Damn it! Bury her!"
He ordered his bodyguards to start shoveling dirt into the hole.
