Jeff was shocked. This wasn’t like Penny at all, she wasn’t usually so straightforward. 

lan got in the car alone, a slight smile on his face. 

Meanwhile, Maja had changed and was ready to go out when she got a call from Shawn asking her kindly if she was ready. 

Maja thought that he must’ve been too busy to see her text, so she told him again where the cinema was. 

The cinema was on the fourth floor of a nearby shopping mall. 

Upon hearing that, Shawn’s eyes lit up and he immediately drove over. 

But the first one to arrive there was lan. 

lan had never been to a cinema before and wasn’t familiar with the procedure, so he just found a spot to stand and waited there for Maja. 

His height and his suit made him stand out at the cinema entrance. His physique was especially noticeable amongst the crowd. 

But he himself didn’t realize that. He waited for about ten minutes before he saw Maja coming out of the elevator. 

There was a brief flicker in his eyes before he saw the man standing next to Maja. 

They were talking, Maja was leaning towards the man, she even handed him her phone. 

Seeing them so engrossed in conversation, a hint of displeasure appeared on lan’s face, a cold light flashing in his eyes. 

Maybe his gaze was too direct as Maja immediately felt like someone was watching her. 

She looked in the direction of the gaze and saw lan standing in front of the glass balcony. 

People were coming and going, and he just stood there, unwavering. 

What was going on? 

Why was lan at the cinema entrance? 

Maja suddenly thought of the blonde woman who was involved with him, a sneer appeared on her face. 

Their relationship was really developing fast, they just had a close encounter and now they were watching a movie together. 

She felt disgusted, she had never felt such loathing for lan before. 

Standing next to her was Shawn, but he was wearing a cap and a mask to hide his identity since he was the lead actor in the movie and most of the people there were his fans. 

But maybe because lan’s appearance was too eye–catching, many people were secretly taking pictures of lan and had overlooked Shawn who had his face hidden. 

“Shawn, wait here for a bit, I’m going to get the tickets.” 

Shawn nodded, that was his first time watching a movie with Maja and he was very excited, so he went to buy a bucket of popcorn. 

Maja was wearing a light purple down jacket with a white scarf, she looked exceptionally cold and elegant. 

lan just watched her back, he saw her get the tickets, but she didn’t come over to greet him, instead, she walked towards the man holding the popcorn. 

Suddenly, he was filled with rage and walked over, looking at Shawn coldly. 

“Who’s this?” 

Maja was a bit taken aback, if she hadn’t known better, she would’ve thought that lan was there to catch a cheater. 

People around them started to look, she was worried that Shawn would be recognized, so she instinctively stepped in front of him. 

Otherwise, there might be unnecessary commotion. 

“Mr. Raymond, it’s none of your business, your date should be arriving soon, can you not disturb us now?” 

lan opened his mouth, but couldn’t say anything, a nameless jealousy was rising within him. 

Wasn’t it her who invited him to watch the movie? 

“Penny, just tell this man to leave now, I won’t be mad at you.” 

Upon hearing this, Maja’s anger was about to burst, but she fought back her anger and pulled Shawn’s sleeve, heading towards the ticket check. 

lan had never been there before, he almost instinctively wanted to follow them in. 

But then, the ticket checker stopped him and asked, 

“Can I see your ticket, please?” 

lan didn’t have a ticket. 

He was always in control in negotiations, but he was often frustrated by these commonsense matters. 

Finally, he showed the picture Maja sent him to the staff, “I want a seat near them.” 

“I’m really sorry, but this showing is sold out, if you still want to watch, you may have to wait for the next one.”
