Chapter 58 novel Excuse Me, I Quit!
Evan's P.O.V.
I grinned as I saw Annie giving me the evil eyes from across the room. All because I talked to Melanie at the party. Oh, my sweet little jealous hamster. Doesn't she know it was impossible for me to think about another girl?
After being hesitant, we ended up at the party. But here I was being burned by her jealous eyes whenever I talked to Melanie. Sure, I could just avoid Melanie, but it was too much fun seeing Annie's possessive side. It was such a turn on.
"You know...I didn't picture you with a girl like Annie," Melanie said after Annie excused herself to go to the bathroom.
"A girl like Annie? As in super intelligent and incredibly sexy? Yeah me neither," I said.
"I mean she is cute but you are just...you two seem completely opposite," Melanie let out a nervous chuckle.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Sure Annie and I didn't have a lot in common but she has my heart locked up in a cage somewhere. And no one else was prettier than my Annie.
I walked away from Melanie when I saw Annie coming out of the bathroom. I stood in front of her.
"Hello Miss, I saw you from the distance so I was wondering if I could have your number," I said.
She coughed to suppress her giggles then turned her face serious again. "Sorry I can't. I have a boyfriend," she said dismissively.
"And? I don't mind. He must be some kind of a loser. You should ditch him and go out with me instead," I smirked.
"Please sir, stop harassing me. My boyfriend will beat you up!" she said.
"Let him try!" I declared and picked her up then threw her on my shoulder.
"Evan! What are you doing? Put me down you imbecile!" Annie cried and started to laugh again. I ignored her protests and carried her outside on the terrace. I sat her down on the railing then wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Why did you bring me here?" she asked.
"To show you this," I said and pointed at the incredible view of the city. "Besides, I can't handle Melanie's blabbering for another second. I get enough of that in class."
"You are so mean," she said. But she was laughing.
"Whatever, you love it when I am mean. You think bad boys are hot and that's why you love me," I said playfully. I picked up a lock of her hair and kissed it.
"That's so not true," she shook her head.
"Then why do you love me?" I asked.
"I love you because you have a big heart even though you pretend like you don't care about anyone," she said and grazed my cheek with her fingers.
"Oh? And why else?" I pressed.
"Be...because when you touch me, it makes me feel warm and safe. And you are not afraid to show me how much you love me. No one ever loved me before so it means a lot to me," she whispered.
I felt pressure in my heart. How could I not love this girl?
"You forgot the most important reason," I said.
"What's that?" she looked at me with confusion.
"Because I am incredibly handsome and have great abs," I smirked.
"You are incredibly stupid is what you are," she rolled her eyes.
"Ouch, you wound me, darling. On a serious note, let's get the fuck out of here. This party sucks," I announced and proceeded to carry her to the car.
"Evan! I can walk!" she protested.
"You've tried to fight this before and it never worked then, it won't work now princess," I laughed.
She sighed and buried her face on my shoulder.
10 years later...
