The faint smile on Ava's face instantly vanished.

Elias saw Ava's expression turn cold, and he immediately snapped out of it.

I stood expressionless on the side, not saying a word.

I had figured it out. Lukas's friend was a flirtatious person. I never expected that he would set his sights on Ava.

Elias decided to leave while things were still under control. He blinked at Ava, "I'll come to see you again later."

As Elias left, I looked at Ava and said, "Ava, I just talked to Senior on the phone. After we finish work this afternoon, we'll come over to see you. Take good care of yourself and ignore Elias. I can see through him."

Ava glanced at me, "I can see through him too. Don't worry. I only have feelings for Cole Harris."

I looked at her with mixed feelings, "It's good that you know. And don't call him Harris anymore. Cole Harris no longer exists in this world. There's only Cole Hopkins. Do you understand?"

Ava nodded, "Aurelia, I understand."

After I tidied up the blanket for Ava, I left.

As soon as I arrived at the parking lot, I saw Lukas standing not far away, popping a mint candy into his mouth.

He saw me and his eyes flickered, "Get in the car, I'll drive you back to the company."

I hesitated. I didn't dare to assume that Lukas was waiting here specifically to drive me back to the company.

I refused, "It's alright. I drove here today, and I'll be coming back in the afternoon as well."

Lukas's expression showed a mix of anger and annoyance. He repeated himself, "Get in the car. I don't want to repeat myself for the third time. If you need it, I can drive you back in the afternoon too."

I quickly shook my head, "Really, there's no need, Mr Strakovski."

Lukas's face darkened, "I have something to talk to you about."

He finished speaking and opened the car door, placing his hand on the door.

Hearing his words, I seemed to understand something. I immediately spoke seriously, "Mr Strakovski, I know what you want to say. Don't worry, today's events were just a coincidence. I won't consider it as fate bringing us together from a thousand miles away, nor will I entertain any inappropriate thoughts about us being destined for each other."

Lukas's handsome face turned pale, his voice through gritted teeth, "It's not that I wanted to talk with you about."

I looked a bit confused, "Then what did you want to say?"

Lukas glared at me with a cold face but remained silent.

I stood still for a few seconds, feeling overwhelmed by Lukas's gaze. I decided to walk towards the car.
