Aurelia POV

In another ward, after the door closed, I couldn't help but furrow my brows, "What does Elias want?"

Ava shook her head, not wanting to discuss the matter. "It's nothing. He's just the playful type, and he didn't give me a hard time. You should go back now. You have work tomorrow."

My eyes flickered, "Alright, then. Take care and call me if you need anything."

Ava nodded, "Okay, I got it. You should leave now."

I left, closing the door behind me. As I turned, I saw Lukas coming out from the neighboring ward.

Both of us glanced at each other and then averted our gazes simultaneously.

I squeezed my fingers. I hadn't done anything wrong, so why should I feel like I had done something worth being guilty about?

With this thought in mind, I turned my head and walked towards the elevator as if nothing had happened.

Lukas followed me silently.

Both of us stepped into the elevator at the same time, and I felt a bit uneasy seeing our two reflections on the elevator wall.

Ever since Lukas warned me not to have any improper thoughts, I had felt suffocated whenever I was with him.

I moved to the side a bit, and Lukas couldn't help but frown, "Am I that terrifying?"

My foot slightly stiffened, "Mr. Strakovski, you're overthinking."

Lukas looked at me like that, feeling inexplicably annoyed, "Outside of working hours, you don't need to address me like that."

I nodded, "Okay, Mr. Strakovski."

Lukas's face darkened, and he didn't continue to correct me, "You don't need to avoid me like this. I won't devour you."

I hurriedly shook my head, "Mr. Strakovski, that's not what I meant. I'm just worried that I might affect your mood."

Lukas's expression remained stern as he heard me continue, "By the way, this afternoon, when I invited Mr. Schmidt to have lunch, I didn't know that you were in the neighboring ward. If I had known, I would have definitely rejected Mr. Schmidt's invitation."

I made it clear that this afternoon, I didn't invite Lukas to the neighboring ward for lunch, nor did I have any intention of initiating a conversation with him.

Lukas's face darkened even more.

Just then, the elevator door opened, and he snorted coldly, striding towards the parking lot.

I looked puzzled, did I say something wrong?

Why was he so temperamental?

I pouted and walked towards my car.

Coincidentally, Lukas's car was parked right next to mine.

Seeing his car leave as fast as he lost his temper, I started my car and slowly drove away from the hospital in the dark night.

I thought that Lukas must have gone home before me.

However, when I returned, Lukas had just entered and put down the car keys.

As I changed my shoes after entering, I saw Lukas walk into the living room.
