My heart turned cold like the chilling wind from the Antarctic.

I never expected that Lukas's intention was purely physical, with no emotions involved.

Perhaps, when I initially proposed to register our marriage and make him my backup plan, I should have expected this.

Thinking about the recent events, my heart grew colder, but my mind became calmer.

I remained silent for a few seconds. Instead of getting up to drink water, I just turned over and lay down, stiffly occupying half of the big bed.

Lukas's eyes flickered as he naturally pulled back the covers and lay on the other side.

The comforting scent beside him unknowingly lulled him to sleep.

The next morning, Lukas opened his eyes, still contentedly holding me in his arms.

Looking at the person in his arms, his expression was slightly unnatural.

Recalling last night's events, he carefully let go of me and got out of bed to take a shower.

As soon as he closed the bathroom door, I opened my eyes.

I thought that the reason I hadn't lost my temper yet was because although Lukas talked about marital obligations, he hadn't really forced me to do anything during the nights we spent together.

I was curious to see what Lukas really wanted.

I got up and headed directly to the guest room's bathroom. When I saw the familiar shampoo and shower gel there, my expression became somewhat awkward.

After finishing my shower, Lukas had already left the master bedroom. I changed my clothes and went to work.

As I passed through the living room, I saw Lukas having breakfast.
