Chloe's POV

The momentary silence caused me to recover and realize. Everyone in the room were now focused on the group who has entered the banquet hall in such an imposing manner.

As the music stopped, gasps and murmurs were heard all around creating a tense atmosphere. The group marched with an aura that is sharp and deadly, not losing to the aura that Kain released earlier.

As they passed through the crowd, the temperature in the banquet seemed to have dropped by several degrees, leading the other guests to frown and shiver.

They were people who wore silver full face masks, which left everyone with no way to know what kind of expression they were having at the moment.

All that everyone could see were the cold shadowy eyes staring straight at one direction… that seemed to be towards… me?

No…

It was not towards me… but towards the person standing just behind me… Alpha Kain!

I watched as they approached in our direction, although deep inside I was still calm.

Whoever they were, they were still a part of the Blood Hound Pack, a force that I have to eliminate in the future!.

However, right now, I am using the identity of a small pack Alpha, Aira. As such I acted scared out of my wits, my body cowering as it seemed to automatically step sidewards to give way to them and approach Kain.

The mysterious pack did not even pause and went straight in front of Kain who had a pleased and surprised expression on his face.

Just as they were a few steps away from Kain, the mysterious pack bent one of their knees and saluted Alpha Kain in unison, “We, the Frost Blade Pack has come to show our support, Lord Kain!”

“Frost Blade Pack… Alpha Sabre…. Those were kind of familiar…” I thought to myself as I tried to remember who they were in my head.

“It’s the mysterious pack based in the Tundra of the North!” Just as I was about to space out to think, one of the elders beside me suddenly exclaimed.

“Ah isn’t that the pack who is known to be ferocious and skilled in assassination? I believe that they never ever showed their faces… They were even more mysterious than the Silver Pack, almost like they were a myth! How come they would suddenly appear here now?!” The others asked in surprise.

“Why would they not? The greatness of the Blood Hound pack had already spread in all directions! And to even think that two of the most legendary packs disappeared as the Blood Hound Pack rose to greatness could have made the Frost Blade Pack initiate to submit to them!”

“Frost Blade pack… I see….” Hearing the heated discussions around, I finally remembered the information about this pack.

Just less than a year ago, the news about the ever secluded pack came out. It is rumored that they came out of their seclusion to join forces with the Blood Hound Pack.

I remember our spies talking about it but no further news nor rumors came after. Eventually we ruled that this was just one silly rumor that was brought by those who wanted to fawn over the Blood Hound Pack.
