Chapter 634 Different Vibe of Affection
On her way to the restaurant, Skylar received a call. Only after Colleen identified herself that the former realize who had called her.

Upon finding out that Colleen was at the entrance of her house, Skylar bid goodbye to Kate and got off the car. She then hailed a taxi and headed back home.

By the time she arrived, Madelyn had already invited Colleen into the house and made the latter a tea to drink while waiting in the living room.

Sipping on the top-grade green tea, the knowledgeable Colleen immediately praised when she saw Skylar, “The tea leaves you have here are superb. They are rarely on sale out there.”

Skylar recalled that those tea leaves were from Tobias. She heard from someone that tea leaves contained a high concentration of amino acids that would aid in weight loss, she begged Tobias for some.

Nonetheless, she had barely touched it after getting them as she could not get used to the taste of tea.

Skylar sat opposite Colleen. Since she had not seen her often, she still felt quite distant from the latter.

Miranda had once recounted how Colleen had been exceptionally domineering since a young age. Skylar learned how the latter had deliberately gotten herself involved to hasten Miranda and Thomas' divorce back then.

“Why did you make your way here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? What if I'm not home?”

Colleen slowly took another sip of tea. “I'll wait for you by the door if you aren't at home. Am I imposing on you for my sudden visit?”

Skylar did not accept Colleen's invitation at once. After all, she figured she would be in an awkward situation if she were to show up. Moreover, she still could not bring herself to give any sincere blessings.

Colleen sighed. “I know it hasn't been easy for you all these years. Your living conditions aren't great either. I've wanted to help you many times, but you should know what your stepmom is like. I'm in a difficult position too.”

Hesitant about being calculative with her aging grandmother, Skylar lifted her hand, tucked some stray hair strands behind her ear, and curled her lips into a faint smile. “I know that. That's why I've never blamed you. Every family has its problems. Since things have passed, there's no use harping on it. I'll still acknowledge you as my grandmother.”

Colleen placed her hand over Skylar's that was placed on her knee. Her rough and wrinkled palm reminded Skylar of Meredith.

They shared the same kind of warmth but different vibes of affection.
