“I was never gonna let him off the hook anyway, plus Charlie had already given him a good beating,” Estelle said in a hushed voice, then even quieter, “This ain’t your business, go wait outside.” 

Jonathan looked angry, but there was a trace of deep worry in his eyes, “You afraid I’ll get involved?” 

Estelle frowned at him. 

Jonathan took a deep breath, stepping back, “I won’t lay a hand on him again.”

Charlie had already turned around, holding Kya in his arms when Jonathan started swinging; hearing the woman’s shriek and worked up voices from behind, he shot her a disgusted look. 

Alec was helped into a chair, taking a good while to catch his breath. His wife was still yelling loudly, demanding the police immediately arrest Jonathan. 

The cops were getting a headache too. This wasn’t their first rodeo with this couple, and they didn’t understand why these two were always quarreling with neighbors and calling the police every time. They were fed up with this family. 

The young police captain stepped forward, “Alexa, cool your jets, we’ve reviewed the surveillance fpotage, indeed it was your son who pushed the little girl first, almost knocked her down. You didn’t apologize and insulted them. You’re in the wrong here!” 

“How are we wrong? Kids will be kids. She’s an adult picking on my little boy. Isn’t she ashamed?” 

Alexa pointed at Estelle while cursing, then quickly pulled back her hand seeing Jonathan’s terrifying glare. 

The police continued, “According to the footage, Ms. Macclain was very polite; it’s your attitude that’s terrible. You started insulting. people without knowing the whole story!” 

Alexa’s eyes widened, “Are you blind? Or has she bribed you to defend her? Didn’t you see she hit someone first? That’s violence!” The cop said helplessly, “Verbal abuse is also violence, you know!” 

Alexa exploded, “Where’s justice? We got beaten, even here at the station. You cops aren’t protecting the citizens but favoring the bad guys, I’ll expose you, I’ll find a journalist, post videos online, and reveal your true colors!” 

The police immediately responded, “Alexa, we’re just sticking to the facts, if they really hurt you, go seek medical help, we’ll definitely handle this fairly. But before that, let us clear things up, we’re not scared if you want to expose us!” 

Alec stood up, looking grim, “I can see it now, you’re biased towards them. Just you wait, your deputy chief will be here soon, you’ll be disciplined!” 

The young cop didn’t seem scared at all, “Whoever you want to call, the surveillance footage is here anyway. Even if our chief comes, I’ll say the same thing! Worst case scenario, we can post the footage online too, see what netizens have to say?” 

The captain glared at the young cop, then said to Alec, “Please calm down. It’s not as serious as it seems, just a little conflict between two kids, we suggest you go to the hospital for a check-up first.” 

“I ain’t leaving until you arrest these people!” Alec looked incredibly stubborn. 

“Where do you work?” the captain asked.
