Alec scrambled up from the floor and immediately walked over to Charlie, slapping himself on the face, his expression full of guilt and shame. “Mr. James, I really didn’t know the truth of the matter. My wife just called me saying our son was beaten up and asked me to rush home. If I knew my son pushed this little girl, I would have disciplined him first!” 

“When you were messing with Estelle, you didn’t seem to care about the truth!” Charlie’s face was expressionless, but it made him look even more stern. 

Alec slapped himself again, “I’m an asshole, calling people names without being clear on the facts. I’m sorry!” 

Charlie turned his back, holding Kya, completely ignoring him. 

Alec had to turn to Brody for help, “Brody, can you put in a good word for me? I’ve always done well in the company. Can you talk to Mr. James for me?” 

“Indeed, your business skills are strong, but your character has serious issues! You should watch the surveillance video. Your behavior was too arrogant.” Brody scolded with a frown. 

“I was wrong, and I’m really sorry. I was just anxious because I heard my son was beaten. I’m not usually like this.” Alec pleaded repeatedly. “Brody, can you speak for me in front of Mr. James? Tell him how good my performance usually is.” 

Brody looked at him and helplessly shook his head. 

Estelle had seen Alec’s arrogant and domineering manner before, and now seeing him so humble and submissive, she found it quite amusing. It was because he met her and Charlie that he was acting so weakly. But what if he met others? Would he continue to bully those who couldn’t threaten him?

“No, no!” Alec shook his head quickly, then yelled at his wife, “You quickly come to apologize to Ms. Macclain!” 

Alexa seemed to understand the situation and knew her husband might lose his job, so she also lost her previous momentum, awkwardly tidied her hair, and apologized to Estelle, “I’m sorry!” 

Estelle said, “Actually, this is nothing big. Your son did something wrong. You just need to discipline him and the problem can be solved. But you insisted on blowing it up!”

Jonathan held Estelle’s hand and softly asked, “Is the matter resolved? Can we leave now?” 

The vice director quickly said, “No problem, we appreciate Mr. Lamont’s help.” 

Jonathan nodded, then led Estelle away.
