Chapter 1365 

The delivery guys were really polite, “Sorry we didn’t give you a heads up. Can we come in?” 

“Sure thing!” Emily replied cheerily, opening the door wider 

The two delivery men began unloading dish after dish from their insulated box onto the table, and then bowed politely. “Enjoy your meal!* “Thanks!” Emily responded. 

Charlie had ordered six dishes and a bowl of soup – a rich morel mushroom soup which was Kya’s favorite. The savory aroma filled the air. 

Emily tidied up a bit, noticing Charlie wasn’t out yet, she furrowed her brow 

Setting Kya in a chair, Emily headed towards the master bedroom to find him. 

Charlie was standing with his back to her on the balcony. Under the dusk light, his tall figure seemed a bit lonely. 

“What’s up?” Emily asked softly. 

She didn’t resist his kiss just now, and he was still upset! 

Turning to face her, Charlie gave a little smile, “You just kissed and ran. I needed a moment to recover, or else people may figure out what we’ve just been up to.” 

Emily blushed a deep red, feeling both embarrassed and a little annoyed. 

Loneliness and Charlie? No way! 

“I didn’t kiss you!” Emily glared at him, quickly turning to leave. 

Charlie took a deep breath, laughing helplessly. 

Emily waited a while before Charlie emerged, she didn’t dare look at him and turned to the kitchen to get some utensils. 

All three of them sat down and began to eat. 

It was their first meal together. 

Thankfully, Kya was a chatterbox and kept the conversation flowing, preventing any awkwardness. 

“Uncle Charlie, two big bad wolves came just now. Why didn’t you come out? Kya asked earnestly. 

“Wolves?” Charlie raised an eyebrow, looking at Emily. 

Emily rolled her eyes. “It’s a fairy tale.” 

“Knock! Knock! Knock! Who’s that knocking on our little front door?” Kya mimicked with her tiny hands, “That’s what those two guys were like.” 

Emily frowned, “Can you quit messing around? Those two were the delivery guys, there was no Mr. Wolf.” 

Kya squinted and smiled, revealing a dimple, “I was just messing with Uncle Charlie. You’re so silly!” 

Emily turned away, not wanting to see Charlie’s suppressed laughter.
