Chapter 928

“Why so?” Magdalen smirked, “The day I went to try on the wedding dress, he said he didn’t have time for me. I smelled something fishy, so I sneaked into his company. And guess what? I found him sitting with a newly signed artist, chatting away and not even noticing my presence.”

She chuckled to herself, “Ella, you were right. It’s exhausting to keep a relationship going all by yourself! So, we broke up and called off the wedding.”

Estelle frowned, “When did this happen?”

“Before you went to Kulha Mountain. There was so much going on later, so I didn’t tell you.” Magdalen’s voice faded, then picked up again, “Actually, I’ve been wanting to get away for a bit, but I was worried about leaving you alone. Now that you’re leaving, it works for me. Let’s call this trip the Joy Ride, a round–the–world tour. Forget the men, they’re all bad news!”

“Hey, hey!” Manley interjected, slightly annoyed, “I’m right here. I’ve always been faithful to Estella!”

“If you dare to mistreat Ella, I will leave you behind!” Magdalen sneered.

Manley sighed and chuckled, “I’m starting to suspect that you’ve been hurt by love and are planning to take me and Estelle with you on a suicide mission!”

“Ella and I are the team. You’re the extra one; you should be the one left behind!” Magdalen retorted.

“I don’t care, where Estelle goes, I follow!” Manley shrugged nonchalantly.

They bantered, giving Estelle no chance to intervene.

“Since you’ve been good to Ella, I’ll let you tag along!” Magdalen laughed, returning to the pilot’s seat, “Buckle up, we’re taking off!”

Suddenly, Estelle had a thought and asked quickly, “Magdalen, do you even know how to fly a helicopter?”

Magdalen grabbed the joystick, turned her head and shouted back, “Yes! I learned to fly just for this trip. My pilot’s license just came through yesterday.” Estelle and Manley were left speechless.

Was this a joy ride, or a death wish?

As the helicopter started to take off, Estelle heard Manley on the phone, “Hello, Mr. Lamont?”

Estelle frowned but remained silent.

Goodbye, J City. Goodbye, everything in the past!

The Lamont Family

Jonathan’s face changed immediately after hearing Manley’s words. But the call was quickly disconnected. When he tried to call back, there was no answer.

He didn’t dare to think about the implications of Manley’s words. He strode out of the door. He had to see Manley right away! Just as he got down to the third floor, he bumped into Henson who was about to go upstairs.

Henson was holding a box, “Are you going out?”

Suppressing his anxiety, Jonathan nodded slightly, “What’s up?”

Henson handed him the box, “This is a birthday gift from Ms. Macclain. It’s your birthday today, and I’m here to deliver it for her
