Chapter 995

After saying hi to Fabian, Henson hoofed it upstairs. He didn’t head to his own room, but went to the third floor.

When he knocked and entered, the living room was lit by a single standing lamp.

Jonathan was lounging on the couch, his tall body casting a faint shadow on the dimly lit carpet.

Hearing the noise, Jonathan looked over, his face hard to read, his voice gruff and deep, “Did I wake you?”

Henson walked over, looking at the ashtray full of cigarette butts, he frowned and said, “How many smokes did you burn through?”

Jonathan got up and went to the French windows, pushing them open. A damp breeze immediately diffused the smoky smell in the room.

As Jonathan rose, Henson spotted a photo face down on the couch. Just as his curiosity was piqued, Jonathan turned back around.

Henson took a seat opposite him and said, “Uncle, your wounds have just healed, you should cut back on the smokes.”

Jonathan nodded, “I know.”

“Do you still dig Ms. Macclain?” Henson suddenly asked.

Jonathan laughed, “Do you know what it means to dig someone?”

“Of course I do. Digging someone means wanting to see her every day, wanting to be with her every day,” Henson explained.

Jonathan said, “Do you have a little lady you’re sweet on?”

Henson immediately retorted, “I’m still a kid. My main gig is studying!”

Jonathan chuckled, “You’re quite mature for your age.”

Henson leaned forward, “Uncle, if you still dig Estelle, you should go win her back!”

Jonathan slowly said, “She doesn’t dig me anymore.”

Henson frowned, “How do you know?”

“She told me herself.”

“Women lie!”

Jonathan couldn’t help but laugh, “You reckon you know girls better than I do?”

“Of course, my desk mate is a girl. I communicate with her every day, so I’ve got their

mindset all figured out!”

Jonathan asked, “Why are you studying her?”

“So we can understand each other!”

Jonathan chuckled, “It’s late, you should go to sleep, or you’ll be late for school again
