When Mariela woke up, it was 1 o’clock in the afternoon. 

The other side of the bed was empty. Lennon had already gotten up. 

Mariela rubbed her hair, lifted the covers, and prepared to get out of bed to freshen up.

When Mariela walked out of the bedroom, Lennon was sitting on the couch in the living room, with his legs crossed and a laptop on his knees. 

Working diligently, he exuded a charming charisma.

The gentle and warm sunlight streamed through the glass window, casting a faint warm glow on Lennon, softening his deep and cold features. The heater was on, so Lennon only wore a black shirt, with the buttons on the collar fastened tightly. He stared at the computer screen seriously. His slender and attractive fingers were swiftly dancing on the keyboard. At that moment, he looked like a serious man. 

Only Mariela knew that last night it was the bony hands that slowly undid her buttons and entwined her over and over again. 

Mariela knew how crazy Lennon was beneath his seemingly ascetic appearance. 

It was the first time that she had seen Lennon so focused on his work. The contrast from last night was great. 

Mariela was momentarily captivated. 

Lennon noticed her gaze and looked up, her cold face instantly softened, and a gentle smile appeared on her expressionless face. “Marie, you are awake.” 

Mariela nodded and walked over to sit next to Lennon. She crossed her legs on the couch and tilted her head to take a closer look at his 

computer screen. 

Lennon said softly, “Robert has officially handed over the company to me, so I have been quite busy lately.”
