“What suicide 

Did Jaime attempt suicide? 

Mariela was confused. 

She couldn’t imagine Jaime would commit suicide. 

How could someone like him do that? 

Perla cried so hard that she couldn’t catch her breath. 

“Did Jay come to see you last night?” Perla asked, trying hard to hold back her tears. 

“Yes.” 

There was a sobbing sound coming from the other end of the phone. 

Menu 

“He fainted in the snow last night. I went to see him today. When I entered the ward, I saw him attempting suicide by cutting his wrists. What did you do to him last night? Why did he feel so hopeless that he wanted to end his life?” 

Mariela frowned, “What could I do to him?” 

Perla cried and said, “Mariela, I didn’t know you were the lady of the Logan family before. I admit that I used to look down on you. I apologize to you. Please forgive me. Can you come to the hospital and visit Jay? Although he has been saved, he lacks the will to live and refuses to wake up. Can you come to the hospital and help him?” 

“Sorry, it has nothing to do with me.” 

Perla instantly got angry when she heard Mariela’s words. 

She raised her voice and accused loudly, “Mariela, how could you be so malicious? Don’t you have a heart? Jay committed suicide for you, and yet you are so heartless that you are not willing to come and see him once!” 

Mariela laughed, “I’m malicious? I don’t care about what you think.” 

-After saying that, she no longer wasted time with Perla and hung up the phone. 

In the hospital. 

Jaime lay on the hospital bed, his consciousness blurred, and he seemed to hear Mariela’s voice.

“Mariela…” 

He struggled to open his eyes. 

He saw white ceilings, felt a clear pain in his wrist, and smelt disinfectant and medicine. 

He moved his fingers. 

“Jay, you finally woke up! Why did you do that…” Perla’s eyes were swollen and red. 

Jaime struggled to speak, “Mom, why is it you? Where is Marie?” 

He had clearly heard Mariela’s voice just now. 

Jaime looked around the ward. 

His dad, his mom, Efrain, Mario, and his siblings all came. Even Juliette, who had a big fight with him in the morning, came. However, he did not see the person he had been longing for. 

After Jaime woke up, the first person he wanted to see was Mariela. Juliette, with a sorrowful expression, turned her face away and shed tears. 

Jaime’s father, Eason, scolded angrily, “How could I have raised such a useless son who would attempt suicide because of a woman!”
