It was silent for a long time. 

The heating made the air in the car stuffy. 

Lennon tugged at his tie and partially lowered the car window. 

The cold wind blew in, instantly refreshing the air. 

Mariela hesitated and said, “You heard my dad…” 

Before Mariela could finish speaking, Lennon suddenly stepped on the gas pedal. Caught off guard, Mariela leaned forward and had to swallow her words back.
