There were no guns in Lennon’s car before, but he specifically obtained this gun to protect himself from Nikolas. 

Just as the Aston Martin was about to catch up with Bugatti and run side by side, Lennon suddenly slowed down, allowing Bugatti to be level with Aston Martin. In one second, Lennon swiftly raised his hand and fired a shot, with the bullet shooting out from the gap in the car window. 

The window glass of Aston Martin was hit with a hole. 

There was no one in the passenger seat, and the bullet hit the driver. In an instant, the car veered off its original direction and crashed into the right–side guardrail by the roadside. 

The front of the Aston Martin caved in, the guardrail twisted and deformed from the impact, and thick black smoke immediately billowed from the car. 

The Porsche 918 behind instantly slowed down. The driver became distracted due to the car crash. 

Lennon seized the opportunity, gripping the steering wheel with one hand and holding a gun with the other. He swiftly turned his head and fired a few shots at the car behind.

She felt the car slow down for a moment, and then she heard a loud noise. It seemed a car had crashed into a guardrail. 

Outside was thrilling and terrifying. Mariela did not lift her head to look around. She obediently lay down and didn’t dare to move. 

The Bugatti finally shook off the two following cars. It accelerated forward and drove a long distance. Lennon relaxed only after confirming that they were out of danger.“Alright, Marie, get up now.” 

Mariela slowly got up. 

Lennon slowed down the car and glanced at her sideways. Mariela’s face turned pale, with a lingering fear in her eyes. She was obviously scared. 

Mariela asked nervously, “Was that Nikolas in person?” 

Lennon shook his head, “He wouldn’t personally appear yet. The one with the gun just now should be one of the mercenaries he brought from Italy. He knows how to use a weapon, probably hired by him in Italy.” 

Mariela was terrified and drenched in a cold sweat.“He is a madman.” 

Lennon felt guilty in his heart, “Are you scared, Marie? I’m sorry. Being with me has put you in danger once again.”
