Darryl sighed with a wry smile.“Fine, whatever you say. Please take good care of Marie with Caylee during this time.” 

He couldn’t tell Fiona the truth about their breakup. 

He said inwardly, “Bro, you have to be this scumbag. You brought this on yourself.” 

“Getting cursed a few times is not a big deal, right?” 

Meanwhile, in Lennon’s office.

Lennon frowned, took out a tissue to wipe his nose, and then got up to wash his hands in the bathroom. 

He thought, “So weird. I didn’t catch a cold. How could I suddenly sneeze?” 

Fiona’s voice came through the phone.“Yeah, Marie, Darryl bought this car to apologize to you. Just accept it, the money is nothing. If you don’t, I will keep nagging at him when he comes back.”

Mariela took a photo and sent it to Fiona and Caylee. They had already got their story straight, so they said exactly what Darryl had just said. Only then did Mariela believe it, and she felt warmth in her heart. She thanked her two best friends and said a few sentimental words. 

Since the thing was almost done, Darryl said, “Well, Marie, since you have plans tonight, I won’t bother you anymore. You can just drive this car back.” 

Mariela asked, “Darryl, you came here driving this car, how will you go back if I drive it away? Shall I give you a ride?” 

Darryl waved his hand.“No, thanks. I’ll call my driver to pick me up. I need to buy a cup of coffee for Fiona from the nearby coffee shop first. You know how she likes the cappuccino there.” 

Lennon’s car was parked in the underground parking lot of the nearby shopping mall. Darryl was going there to meet him in a while. Mariela didn’t doubt him and waved goodbye.“Well, I’m leaving now, bye.”
