At the underground parking lot. 

Darryl, looking cold as ever, opened the passenger door of the Cullinan and slid in.“Bro, I handled everything you asked. Marie has accepted the car and the bags.” 

Lennon’s slender fingers rested on the steering wheel, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he said, “Did she suspect anything?” 

Darryl honestly replied, “Yes, she asked me if the car was bought by you. I colluded with Fiona to trick her. Marie trusts Fiona a lot, so she probably won’t think much about it after this.” 

Lennon let out a deep and serious “Hmm.” 

For a while, Darryl didn’t know what to say. Lennon just stared blankly into the void. The car was so quiet that you could hear the heater humming. 

Darryl knew that Lenny was missing Mariela again, so he wisely stayed quiet, not wanting to interrupt. 

After a while, Lennon said, “I really wanted to see her.” 

Darryl paused for a while. 

“Hold on,” Darryl said as he took out his phone.“Bro, I’ll figure something out for you.” 

He dialed Fiona’s number. 

“Hey, Fiona, I just saw Marie while dropping off the car, and she didn’t seem to be in a good mood. She looked all droopy, like a frostbitten eggplant. I think she’s still feeling down, and I’m really worried that she might bottle it up and things will get worse. She’s off tomorrow, so how about you take her out tonight and give her some encouragement?” 

Fiona complained on the phone, “Ugh, how is it possible for Mariela to get over breaking up with Lennon so quickly? Meanwhile, Lennon’s out there dating some female celebrities like nothing ever happened. You men are all cold and heartless!” 

Darryl instinctively glanced at Lennon. 

He had clearly lost weight during this time. 

There were faint dark circles under his eyes, showing that he hadn’t been sleeping well for several nights. 

Lennon’s love for Mariela was not obvious to everyone, but Darryl could see it very clearly. After all, they had been good friends for so many and this was the first time he had seen Lennon so caught up in a woman. The usually calm and composed guy was almost depressed just years, after breaking up. 

Lennon was clearly a big romantic, but sadly, he had to wear the labels of “heartbreaker” and “player“. Even as an onlooker, Darryl felt sad to watch. 

Darryl said a few more words to Fiona and she brought up inviting Mariela out for a drink. 

Darryl asked casually, “Which bar are you guys going to? I’ll come pick you up later.”
