Mariela had been very busy recently.

Mariela thought for a moment and then shrugged.“I really can’t remember. You know I don’t care about those things or socializing. What does it have to do with me, the hottest boy or anything like that?” 

“Well, you were completely a bookworm. While others were dating on weekends, you would go to the library. And you rejected all the boys who liked you. You didn’t even have a date throughout your four years of college.” Fiona shook her head. “I mean, why did you work so hard? You have enough family wealth to last several lifetimes.” 

Caylee smiled lightly and said, “Marie was just pursuing what she really wanted. She had no interest in business and was determined to become a successful lawyer.”
