Mariela never expected to run into Lennon here. 

Mariela was lost in thought when Bryce suddenly said from behind her, “Mr. Stark, what a coincidence. Are you also here for a meal? 

Lennon sounded indifferent and looked calm. He answered, “Yes.” 

Mariela didn’t know what to say, so she decided not to speak and walked straight into the restaurant, bypassing Lennon. 

The waiter came over to attend to Mariela.“Excuse me, Ma’am. Do you have a reservation, and how many people are you 

Mariela replied calmly, “Yes, we have a reservation. The name is Bryce Vance.”

Bryce walked past Lennon with confident strides and went after Mariela ahead.

Mariela sat there, absent–minded. 

Even when Bryce pushed the door open, Mariela didn’t notice. 

“Ms. Logan,” Bryce called when he pulled out a chair and sat down. 

Mariela snapped out of her trance but was still a bit out of sorts.“The menu is over there.” 

Bryce showed a gentle smile and said, “Okay.” 

Bryce did not ask any questions or mention any other people that might make Mariela uncomfortable. 

Mariela adjusted herself quickly and forgot what had just happened. 

While waiting for the food, Mariela started talking to Bryce about their partnership. 

Bryce said, “A friend of mine specializes in criminal defense and has been a licensed lawyer for three years, just like me. I can invite him to join us if you are willing.” 

Mariela’s eyes brightened and answered, “Sure. Let’s meet up together and have a detailed discussion.” 

Bryce nodded slightly and said, “Good. 

“He was one of my classmates from university, and you don’t need to worry about his professional abilities.”
