Mariela’s face flushed even more, and she hesitantly murmured, “Yes.” 

Bryce looked at Marie with a hint of amusement and asked, “Do I look like such a narcissist?”

Mariela explained anxiously, “I didn’t mean that. I heard from Fiona and Caylee that many girls liked you, but you rejected all of them. I thought you might be disgusted with the opposite sex having a crush on you because there are too many girls who like you. I’m afraid you’ll misunderstand me and refuse to partner with me. Can you understand?” 

Seeing Mariela explain that to him very seriously, Bryce suddenly started laughing. 

Marie didn’t know why Bryce laughed. 

“What are you laughing at?” 

Bryce looked very attractive when he smiled, giving people a feeling of being bathed in the spring breeze. 

Bryce was not the same type of handsome guy as Lennon. 

Lennon was kind of hard to get close to.

Marie didn’t say anything. 

“You don’t need to explain. I know you don’t like me.” 

Marie was confused. 

“I knew that a long time ago.” 

Bryce thought in his mind. 

Bryce wanted to ask Marie a question. 

That was, do you really not remember me at all? 

But after a moment’s thought, Bryce finally didn’t ask. 

Bryce knew he might lose his chance to work with Marie if he asked. 

After showing Bryce the decoration of the law firm, it was just time for dinner. 

Bryce smiled gently and asked, “Can I take you out for dinner, my partner?” 

Mariela replied gracefully, “Sure, why not?” 

Marie didn’t have Valentine’s Day on her mind. All she thought about was work. She wanted to have dinner first and then talk to Bryce about the partnership, and sign the contract. 

This was the first time Mariela had a formal dinner with Bryce, her partner. In her mind, Mariela was thinking about discussing cooperation at the dinner table, so she chose a nearby upscale restaurant, not wanting it to be too casual. 

Mariela and Bryce walked into the restaurant, and as they looked up, they were taken by surprise to see an acquaintance. 

Lennon was dressed in a black suit, but it couldn’t hide his noble demeanor and his handsome face. 

Lennon looked at Mariela’s face for a few seconds and then he looked at Bryce behind Marie.
