Lennon’s sharp gaze swept over her, freezing her in place. 

The look in his eyes was too chilling, part warning, part fury. Lauryn instantly fell silent. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. 

A second later, Lennon said coldly, “I don’t want to hear that again.” 

Lauryn’s eyes turned red. She bit her lip, feeling utterly wronged.“Lenny, is Mariela really more important than your life? 

“Yes.” 

He did not hesitate for even a second. 

Just one word and the entire Stark family was left speechless. 

Silence fell over the room. 

After a long moment, Bella came back to her senses and snapped, “This is ridiculous!” 

Royce’s face was just as dark.“Lenny, have you forgotten what your grandfather told you?” 

“No,” Lennon said calmly, “But you don’t have to worry about me. Marie is more important to me than my life, but I am not that stupid to risk my life. If I go in alone, neither of us will survive.” 

When they heard Lennon’s words, the expressions of the people in the living room eased slightly. 

Rayne asked, “So you already have a plan?” 

Lennon nodded and explained his strategy in detail. 

After he finished, Bella frowned.“It is still too risky. You are the only heir of the Stark family. I will not allow you to put yourself in danger.” “That is right, Lenny! You can’t go. I still think we should call the police and have them rescue Mariela. If you go, Nikolas definitely will not let you off.” 

Lennon’s face turned cold. His gaze was sharp as a blade, full of warning.“I said, no police.”

She was exaggerating a little, but not entirely. She really was afraid that Lennon might not make it back. 

Lennon ignored her and turned to Royce, Rayne, and Bella.“Dad, Mom, Grandma, this is the best rescue plan we have. Let us go with it. I need you to cooperate.” 

Bella shook her head.“I don’t agree. You can’t go.” 

Lennon clenched his jaw, his expression cold.“Grandma, I’ve made up my mind.” 

In other words, her objection was pointless. 

“You… You…” Bella trembled with anger.“You would risk your life for a woman? Fine, fine! I can’t control you anymore, but I will tell your grandfather. Let him deal with you!”
