Lennon had just returned to the Stark’s house when Lauryn’s car pulled into the underground parking lot. 

They entered the house one after the other. 

In the first–floor living room, Bella, Royce, and Rayne were seated on the sofa, waiting for them.

Lennon walked in hastily and got straight to the point.“The one who called the police was Marie’s friend. She could not get in touch with Marie and was worried something had happened. The police only contacted the Logan family to confirm whether Marie was actually missing. As of 

now, 

they don’t know she was kidnapped by Nikolas. Besides, it has only been a few hours since she went missing, so the police will not file a case for now.” 

His expression was grim, and his deep eyes were cold and sharp. 

“Nikolas just called me. He wants me to go alone…” 

“No way! Lenny, you can’t go alone!” Before Lennon could finish, Lauryn cut him off. 

Ever since Lauryn found out that Mariela had been kidnapped by Nikolas, she had been in a great mood. She was even humming a little tune on the way back.

But the moment she heard that Lennon planned to go alone to save Mariela, her good mood vanished instantly. 

Lauryn’s expression changed. She was visibly tense. “Nikolas definitely will not let you go. It is too dangerous for you to go alone! We should call the police and have them go with you!” 

Lennon frowned. His voice was firm.“No. We can’t involve the police. If Nikolas finds out we called them, he will kill Marie immediately.” “But her friend had called the police! They already know she is missing,” Lauryn argued. 

Lennon replied, “Like I just said, the police do not know she was kidnapped. As long as we coordinate with the Logan family and tell the police we’ve found her, there won’t be a problem. Then we can come up with a plan to rescue Marie ourselves.” 

Royce asked, “What do you plan to do?” 

Lennon’s face was unwavering.“Nikolas is after me. I will trade myself for her.” 

“You are out of your mind!” Royce exclaimed. 

“No way!” Lauryn cried. 

“Absolutely no!” Bella said.
