Chapter 456
The Rolls–Royce Phantom drove into the underground garage.
Marie parked the car, took the car thing
keys, and took the elevator to the first–floor living room.
The live–in nanny was mopping the floor in the living room. Seeing Mariela return, she smiled slightly and greeted her, “Ms. Logan, you’re back. Have you had dinner?”
Marie nodded, thinking of Haleigh in the hospital. She asked, “Has Haleigh had dinner? Did someone bring her food?”
The nanny replied, “Yes, Mr. Logan specially hired a cook at the hospital.”
Marie nodded and turned to walk upstairs, “Have a good night.”
Back in her room, Marie stood in front of the floor–to–ceiling window, spacing out for a while.
Thinking of her sister’s current situation, Marie’s heart felt both stifled and painful.

Lennon said the police were already formulating a plan to rescue Angel. She wanted to call and ask about the situation, but after looking at the time, she held back, the police should be off work and resting at this hour.
Marie spaced out for a while, then suddenly thought of something, her heart moved, and she opened a storage box.
Inside was a painting.
Mariela’s eyes showed pain, her hand trembling as she reached for the painting.
This painting was done by Angel.
In the painting was their happy family of four.
Deandre and Haleigh are on either side, with Mariela and Angel in the middle, the four of them holding hands, happy and harmonious.
Marie’s fair and slender fingers gently brushed over the painting, her fingertips resting on Angel’s position.
Almost instantly, tears welled up in Marie’s eyes, “Angel… My Angel…”
A tear
Plop.
fell.
It dripped onto the painting.
This painting was given to Mariela by Angel when she had just returned from Los Angeles.
At that time, she was still indifferent to this clingy little sister.
But Angelica didn’t distance herself because of her attitude. Instead, she became more clingy, more obedient, and sensible.
Angelica was the most well–behaved, cutest, and most sensible child in the world.
Mariela’s eyes were wet, her eye sockets red.
During the day at the Stark’s villa, she tried hard to control her emotions. Now that she was home, she didn’t have to control them
anymore.
Her heart ached in waves, tears falling uncontrollably like beads from a broken string.
Marie covered her face with her hands, lowering her head in pain, “Angel…”
