Bryce elegantly sliced the steak. 

Mariela ordered a bottle of Romanée Conti. 

The waiters in uniforms slowly poured the wine into their glasses. 

Bryce smiled and said, “Even if the judge supports all our demands in the BioLumina Group case, the legal fees would only be 32 thousand dollars. However, you spent 30 thousand dollars on the wine. Ms. Logan, this is a loss–making deal, isn’t it?” 

Mariela gently swayed the red wine glass, her beautiful eyes shimmering with a faint smile. “No, I’ll never make a losing deal.” 

Bryce smiled at her, waiting for her following words. 

“You brought in more than ten times the profit of the price of this wine to Crestwood Law Firm in a year,” Mariela said with a smile. 

Bryce chuckled, “I thought you were a fool with money, and I didn’t expect you to be so business–savvy.” 

“Of course I am. I have a great father after all.” 

When it came to doing business, no one could compare to Deandre, the top entrepreneur in New York. 

They had a pleasant meal. 

Bryce provided many practical suggestions and debating strategies. 

Mariela wrote them down. 

After finishing the meal, Mariela called the waiter to settle the bill. 

The waiter politely smiled and said,“Hello, madam. This gentleman has paid the bill.” 

Mariela’s hand paused on the card, and she looked up at Bryce, who was sitting across from her.“Didn’t we agree that I would pay?” Bryce smirked, “It isn’t my style to let the lady pay.” 

Mariela puffed her cheeks and said, “You spent 30 thousand dollars on the wine and 3,200 dollars on the dishes before earning much money at Crestwood. Isn’t this a loss–making deal?” 

“Just like you, I never engage in unprofitable deals.” Bryce smiled. “With your excellent network, I am not afraid of running out of cases. I am waiting for you to give me a big one.” 

“Okay.” Mariela put the card back into her bag. “Then, I’ll accept the meal.” 

Mariela put the card back and prepared to get up and leave. 

Just then, a woman walked towards them. Her eyes were wide open and she wore an expression of disbelief.“Bryce?” 

The woman had come to the table. “It’s really you!” 

Bryce was slightly startled, “Aunt Elsa?” 

The woman’s name was Elsa Tate. She had neat chestnut short hair and wore exquisite makeup. Despite being over forty, she took good care of herself and looked like she had just turned thirty. 

“Who is this?” Elsa smiled at Mariela. 

“This is my business partner, Mariela, that I mentioned to you before,” Bryce answered and then introduced Mariela to Elsa, “Ms. Logan, this is my aunt.”
