Mariela recognized that the little girl’s clothes were children’s clothing from a luxury brand. She also noticed that Angelica had the same bunny hairbands as the ones the girl was wearing. They were priced at over II thousand dollars.
Mariela approached and asked, “Little girl, what happened to you?”
The little girl’s eyes were red from crying, and her face was covered in tear stains. “I–I got lost from my mom,” she sobbed.
It was just as Mariela speculated.
“Do you remember your mother’s phone number?” Mariela asked.
The little girl pouted and shook her head.
Mariela asked again, “What about your father’s phone number? Or the phone numbers of your other relatives?”

Mariela sighed and asked, “Do you know your parents‘ names?”
The little girl nodded and said, “My mother’s name is Elsa Tate.”
Mariela breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, she remembered her mother’s name.
