Mariela smiled and said, “I just heard a child crying while taking a walk in the park, so I went over to take a look. It turns out her mom is you.” 

“Did you bring my daughter Annika over?” Elsa looked grateful.“Thank you so much.” 

Mariela smiled and said, “You’re welcome. I just lifted a finger.” 

“Annika, say thank you to Mariela,” Elsa said to Annika with a smile. 

Annika looked at Mariela with her clear and bright eyes and said sweetly, “Thank you, Mariela.” 

“You’re so sweet,” Mariela bent down and patted Annika’s head, smiling. 

Elsa held Annika’s hand and said, “Ms. Logan, I am really grateful to you. Let me treat you to dinner tonight.” 

“No need.” Mariela’s lips curved into a smile. 

“What’s wrong, Ms. Logan? Are you not available tonight?” Elsa asked enthusiastically. “Tomorrow works too. When will you be free?” 

Mariela waved her hand and said, “There’s no need.” 

Elsa persisted, and Mariela felt too embarrassed to refuse again after several rejections, so she said, “Well, alright then. I have something to do tonight, so next Saturday night it is.”
