She sobbed, and when she got tired from crying, she leaned against the iron wall of the carriage to rest. 

Even though she was covered with a blanket, her wet clothes were still icy cold, chilling her to the bone and making her shiver as if she were in a freezing ice cave. 

Lauryn guessed that the truck was heading toward New York. 

In a few more hours, she would be able to see Lennon. 

The truck finally came to a stop. 

Lauryn was violently dragged out of the carriage. 

She looked up and glanced around. She recognized this place. It was Lennon’s base. 

She had been here before, but she had never gone inside. 

Without Lennon’s approval, no one could enter this place, not even Robert. 

Did it mean that she could see Lennon right away? 

The day finally came. 

Lauryn was thrown into the basement. 

There was no heating, no sunlight, and it was very cold. 

In a moment, Matthew walked in. 

“Ms. Schneider, long time no see.” The man squinted his eyes, his tone cold, “You made it hard for me to find you.” 

Lauryn trembled and stammered, “What… What do you want to do?” 

Matthew grinned and said, “What can I do? My task was to bring you back, and now, the task has been completed. How to handle you is up to Lennon.” 

“Did… Did he come?” Lauryn bit her lip, a hint of anticipation appearing on her pale face. 

Matthew couldn’t help but smile when he saw her like this.“Ms. Schneider, don’t tell me you did all these things for Lennon. Do you have feelings for him?” 

Lauryn was about to suffer, but she remained defiant.“It’s none of your business.” 

Yeah, it’s none of my business. You better think about what you should do next. Lennon won’t let you off.” 

“No, Lenny wouldn’t be so heartless to me! He used to spoil me a lot. Don’t try to scare me. Lenny has been so good to me, so how could he bear to mistreat me?” 

Matthew laughed strangely, “Should I say you are love–struck or foolish? Lennon used to treat you well because you were the f daughter of the Stark family and his nominal sister. What about now? You helped Nikolas, took several lives, and you’re an enemy to the Starks. Do you think he will still have a soft spot for you?”
