No one thought the accident would happen so fast. 

They were about to reach the restaurant entrance. 

At that moment, two guys suddenly rushed out of the crowd. 

They all wore black masks and black baseball caps. 

One tall 

guy 

had on a white short–sleeved shirt. His arms were muscular and had tattoos. 

The other guy was a bit shorter and didn’t look as strong. 

Mariela and Haylee reacted fast and dodged to the side. 

“Boss, watch out! I can handle this. You take them and go first!” Haylee shouted, turning her head to avoid the muscular guy’s knife, then punched him hard in the face. 

Gia and Hailie were scared stiff. Their faces turned white. 

When working at Vanguard Law Associates, there was an incident where someone caused trouble and stabbed people. Gia suddenly remembered Macy grabbing her to protect himself from a knife. She was so scared, her eyes widened, she was shaking all over, and just froze in place. 

Mariela was startled. She grabbed Gia with one hand and Hailie with the other.“Run, quick!” Gia was being pulled and snapped back to reality, then ran with Mariela. 

This was the first time Hailie had been in such a scary situation. Her legs were shaking with fear, and she was wearing high heels for work. She hadn’t run a few steps before she twisted her ankle and fell. 

After fighting with them, Haylee realized those two weren’t ordinary people. One could tell from their build they were well–trained mercenaries! 

But she had fought mercenaries before, and these two guys were no match for her. 

Just then, one of the guys saw Hailie fall and immediately broke free from Haylee and ran toward Mariela and Hailie. 

“How are you, Hailie? Can you stand up?” Mariela asked worriedly. 

“It hurts a lot,” Hailie said, struggling to stand 

up with Mariela’s help. 

But she had a bad ankle injury, so she could only stand on one foot, barely touching the ground with the other.
