Lauryn’s heart skipped a beat when she heard Nikolas wanted to die with Lennon. She blurted out, “Is Lenny okay? Did he get hurt?” 

Rayne scoffed, “That’s none of your business. You’re doomed. If you confess to poisoning Royce, it can be counted as a new–crime self–surrender, and you might get a lighter sentence. But if the police find evidence against you, you’ll lose the chance for leniency.” 

“A lighter sentence?” Lauryn’s eyes were full of sarcasm.“Do you think I’m stupid? If I poisoned Royce, would the Stark family let me go? And you are talking about leniency. That’s hilarious.” 

Rayne said coldly, “So, you’re not going to admit it.” 

Lauryn kept her mouth shut.“Why should I admit to something I didn’t do?” 

“Time’s up,” the prison guard announced. 

They hung up the phone, and Lauryn was led away by the prison guard. 

Before leaving, she turned and gave Rayne a meaningful smile. 

The day before, after Mariela was out of danger, Rayne told Lennon about Royce being poisoned. 

Royce was so poisoned that he didn’t have long. There was no need for him to be in the ICU, so the doctor moved him to a regular ward so he could spend his last days with his family. 

Bella was shocked the night before and had a heart attack. She was also admitted to the hospital. 

From last night until now, Lennon had been by Royce’s bedside, except when he went to see Bella. 

Rayne left the prison, had lunch outside, and then went to the hospital. 

In Royce’s hospital room. 

Rayne glanced at Lennon, “Have you had meals?” 

Lennon shook his head and said, “I’m not hungry.” 

“You have to eat even if you’re not hungry. You’re injured too. You can’t skip meals.” 

With that, Rayne called Lennon’s assistant, Thomas.“Send some lunch to Lenny.” 

“Yes, madam,” Thomas replied. 

The day before, when Mariela had the accident, Thomas came to the hospital with Lennon. 

Later, he learned about Royce’s poisoning and hospitalization. 

So, even without Rayne specifying the location, Thomas knew where to send the food. 

“Your grandfather will be back in New York tomorrow afternoon,” Rayne told Lennon.
