Mariela had a narrow escape and was out of danger, but things were looking grim for Royce The doctor said Royce had been poisoned for a long time, and the poison had seeped into his internal organs. There was no hope for a cure. 

When Bella heard this awful news, she fainted. 

The next day, Rayne went to prison. 

Through the glass, Lauryn, dressed in a prison uniform, sat inside, while Rayne sat outside. They talked on a landline phone. 

Lauryn sneered, “Mrs. Stark, what a surprise. The sun must have risen in the west for you to come 

to see me.” 

Ever since Lauryn’s crush on Lennon was revealed, Rayne had slapped her, and the pretense of “mother–daughter love” between them was gone. 

Later, Lauryn was kicked out of the Stark family. 

Lauryn stopped calling Rayne “mom” and started using “Mrs. Stark‘ instead. 

From Lauryn’s arrest to her sentencing, Rayne never visited her, but Bella had visited twice. 

Bella did not part ways with Lauryn and still doted on her. Even now, with Royce almost dying from poisoning, she still couldn’t believe Lauryn would do such a thing. 

Rayne stared coldly at her and asked straight out, “Did you poison Royce?” 

“Poisoned? How could Royce be poisoned?” Lauryn feigned surprise, but there was a smirk in her 

eyes. 

“Cut the act,” Rayne said, her face cold.“No one else has a motive but you. Nikolas told you to do 

it.” 

Lauryn smiled and replied, “Mrs. Stark, you can eat whatever you want, but you can’t just say anything. You say I poisoned Royce. Where’s the evidence?” 

“If 

you did it, there’ll be traces. They’ll find the evidence,” Rayne retorted.
