Chapter 107 is a standout chapter in Five Lost Angels: My Husband's Fatal Deception by Cassila K, where the pace intensifies and character dynamics evolve. Rich in drama and tension, this part of the story grips readers and pushes the Internet narrative into new territory.
Spaghetti red mermaid style gown and balayage blonde hair, Melody was back with her new look, she looked like a Victoria's secret model in her skin-tight outfit. Imprisonment in the jail must have compromised her appearance, so she was wearing thick make-up, her red lipstick was really loud.
Well, her spadework was none of my business, the only thing that perturbed me was her audacity to show up at my door.
On top of that, she completely ignored my query and greeted her dear lover.
"Merry Christmas, babes!"
She threw herself at Leo, grasping his arm.
"I missed you a lot, babes. You must be reminiscing about the Christmas that we spent together."
As my Villa's porch wasn't a dating point or lovers' spot, I found this reunion quite nauseous. Leo's plan to rub his girlfriend's love on my face short-circuited my brain.
I swiftly sent Jane inside and tried to close the door, kicking out those love birds wasn't possible because of holidays.
Like the whole city, my security staff was also on vacation, I had only one gunman at the gate for protection. Mostly, extra security protocol wasn't necessary on such an occasion. But as my life was a melodrama, every episode was full of action-packed scenes.
My attempt to extricate my family from this live action was fruitless as Leo placed his hand on the door, his incredulous gasp gave away his shock.
"What are you doing here, Melody?"
As he repeated my query, I became curious all of a sudden, this interaction felt interesting to me. Melody was imprisoned, and her only supporter was Leo, her rich boyfriend, I had to know whether he bailed her out or not.
Well, Melody flicked her hair and answered my unspoken queries one by one, voicing her deep affection for Leo.
"What am I doing here?
Obviously, I am here to see you, babes."
She pressed his hand, smiling flirtatiously,
"You know that I can't stay away from you. So, I took the help of a lawyer and got bail today.
The judge was moved by the purity of our love!"
Yikes!
It was implausible that a judge granted bail due to so-called true love. Perhaps, Melody was exaggerating the reason to be manumitted for making an impression. But it was great to hear that she was on her own now, Leo wasn't backing her up.
Leo pulled his hand back, freeing from Melody's hold and spoke sharply.
"You can see I am busy here. Melody, you may leave now!"
His straightforward ‘get lost' hit Melody like a whirlwind of insults. Her eyebrows lowered, pulling closed together as she squinted her almond eyes.
"What did you say?
Leave?
I went to the prison only for you and that's all you have to say to me?
Unbelievable!"
Leo's thin lips tightened as if he was choking back his anger from bashing her, he hardly played it cool and groaned in frustration.
"Come on, Melody. Today is Christmas, and I am here to have dinner with my daughter. Don't waste my time!"
Then he looked at me and smiled.
"Let's go, Laura. Jane is waiting for her dad."
"Dad?"
Melody squealed, "That wench's daughter is yours? How?
How can you do this to me, Leo?"
"Here we go!"
Bright commented, crossing his arms over his chest,
Don't create a scene here and leave. We can talk tomorrow."
The dinner was getting cold, and Melody wasn't in the mood to leave any sooner, so I chimed in, concluding their heated arguments.
"I apologize for interfering in your personal matters, but Melody is right. You should follow your family traditions and go with her, Leo."
Leo and Melody both looked at me with so much hostility that my throat dried, but still, I spoke up. It was consequential to save my Christmas.
"Look, Bright, I, and Jane is a family. So, we will have dinner in my Villa tonight.
But Melody is Zoe's mom, your family. So, you should go with her and enjoy a meal peacefully.
She is …"
My interceding turned out to be the addition of fuel to raging flames, the fire of pure rage consumed Melody as a whole as she lost it.
"Fuck off, Laura? I don't need your pity."
Although I was trying to support her despite all her wrongdoings, she cursed me, blowing my head away. I couldn't keep cool and snapped at her.
"You came to my Villa unsolicited and still have the guts to shout at me like this? How dare you, Melody?
This isn't your boyfriend's house where you can treat me poorly. It's my Villa, my estate."
As Melody was from poor background, I flexed my wealth and asked her to shut the fuck up.
"I am giving you the last chance. Leave the hell out of my house. Otherwise, I will call the police and remove you from my property.
Take your lovely boyfriend and kid with you and get lost. No more guests are welcome here."
Melody nostrils flared as she glared hard at me, her voice raised an octave in response.
"I will leave, but only with Leo. Keep your Zoe with you. He is your filth!"
